Since we are getting technical...I found this in Larry Richards book "Baffling Bible Questions Answered" :
Q. Why would God make Eve from Adam's rib rather than shape her as he ad Adam? Is this just another proof of the Bible's chauvinistic attitude toward women?
A. It is, in fact just the opposite. If God had made Eve from clay after he created Adam, it might be argued that women are different from and, as a later creation, inferior to men. (per me or superior?) In forming Eve from Adam's rib God confirmed woman's identity with man. Eve was thus a full partner with Adam in God's gift of the divine image and likeness.
Personally I don't believe the Bible...but thought some of you might find this interesting....

Actually all Adam said was "Bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh. This one will be called Woman, because from man this one was taken." lol Adam wasn't real romantic.... I have to say I like Yerusalyim's explanation a WHOLE lot better

lurking? hhhmmm haven't done any lurking that I know of...a friend of mine posts here...she has been giving me links to subjects she thinks I might be intereted in...and I post on them if I feel I have something to offer...well even if I don't have anything to offer and just feel like posting...
It seems like a very interesting and encouraging place :-) Just really BIG..I am used to a smaller board with less people...kind of feel lost in the crowd here...lol I don't know how I feel about being a little fish in such a big pond...
