  Door to door work really being done?

  obviously the witnesses are going door to door, but is it as effective as could be?

  in all my years as an adult, only once has any witness come to the door preaching "the good news.

  " this is once in over 15 years.

  My mother who is still a witness in South Carolina tells me that no listens to them or takes the literature and it is a big waste.

  I grew up in the borg and just left 3 years ago. In my area in Jamaica Queens NYC, I have seen them going door to door only once in 12 months. And I saw them in my immediate neighborhood for the first time in 2 1/2 years about 1 month ago.

  Yes its true. Nobody goes out in that worthless ministry except when they need 15 minutes or so to put on the time slip. HAH!

  Why is the WTBTS Dumbing Down?

  have you noticed the watchtower's slow drift into another self-destructive trap of their own design?

  i know i will get a couple of responses from some.

  the opinions will generally come from two camps: the society will never die because there will always be ones willing to write a mental "blank check"and embrace "god" through his "orginization".the society will prosper because it is god's orginzation in our times.. .

  Amen. 30 Years A Watchtower Slave is one of the main keys to predicting wts moves. And yes. They would rather get rid of most of their current members in order to perpetuate their organization in some form or fashion just as 30 years A Watchtower Slave describes.

  Would some of us be better off as Witnesses?

  i have often wondered if many people would be better off if they stayed witnesses.

  some people i have known have really gone off the deep end after they left the watchtower.

  most all of my family have left now (not due to me as i was cut off from them for years) and many others i know who have left are now bitter atheists or have become pagans and worship stones or new ageers playing with crystals.

  Jerry, that is a wrong statement because everything that the Watchtower criticizes about other religions, are things that they do themselves. Thats why they are the biggest hypocrites on the face of the earth.

  You can't criticize others for doing things that you yourself do. That is nothing but sheer hypocrisy and in doing this the borg condemns itself.

  Disturbances at Assemblies

  i remember hearing over and over about how wonderful it was to be gathered together at the assemblies, and how the brotherly love flowed, and everyone got along.. they would comment that where else could you get 10,000 and more people together where there was so much peace and unity.. we were flat out told there was no where that this occured.

  that wordly people could never have that many people together, then riots would happen, fights, drunken idiots etc.. well, i have been to many busines seminars, where there are thousands of people, and they never get out of hand.

  i have been to many concerts with thousands of people there, and they don't get out of hand.. how egotistical these power witnesses are to think they are the only ones that can get along peacefully.. i know there are cases of fights, or something at large events, but there has been things like that at assemblies too.. has anyone here seen fights, or disturbances at assemblies, or large witness gatherings?

  I have seen people fight at JW assemblies. One notable fight at Yankee Stadium back in 1988 involved 2 sisters who were fighting over seats. One sister had 'reserved' a bunch of seats by putting watchtower mags on the seats. The other sister came and saw that no one was sitting in these seats and proceeded to remove the mags. They started arguing and the fight actually got to the point where they started punching each other. An attendant had to come and break it up.

  And over the years I have witnessed similar fights at jw assemblies.

  Harley Miller Died

  i heard from my mom that harley miller died in california -- apparently -- today.

  i understand he had gone there for a pacemaker, but died before he could get it.. he had an article in the wt or awake 10 -12 years ago.

  although i didn't know him, he sounded like a pretty decent fellow.. fp

  HARLEY MILLER WAS NOT A DECENT FELLOW.I SPOKE TO HARLEY MILLER PERSONALLY ON THE PHONE ABOUT THE OBVIOUS INJUSTICE GOING ON IN THE QUEENS CONGREGATIONS WITH REGARD TO ME AND HE REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. HE WAS ONE OF THE SERVICE DEPT PEOPLE WHO TRAMPLED ALL OVER JUSTICE IN MY CASE AND PAID NO ATTENTION TO DOING WHAT WAS RIGHT EVEN THOUGH HE KNEW I WAS BEING RAILROADED.IN FACT, HE WAS ONE OF THE MANY WHO ASSISTED IN RAILROADING ME.HE AND JARACZ SPECIFICALLY GOT TOGETHER TO MAKE SURE THAT WTS PROCEDURE WAS NOT FOLLOWED IN MY CASE AND THATJUSTICE WAS NOT DONE IN MY CASE.THIS INFORMATION WAS GIVEN TO ME A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO BY A WELL KNOWN POSTER FROM THIS BOARD AS WELL AS FROM H20 AND THIS POSTER HAD CLOSE INSIDE CONTACTS.

  SO WITH REGARD TO HARLEY MILLER, GOOD RIDDANCE!

  I JUST WISH HE WAS STILL AROUND SO THAT HE COULD SEE AND SUFFER FROM THE DESTRUCTION OF THE wts.

  i attended the sad in brooklyn this weekend and thought you might enjoy some of the highlights.. the morning began with two "telling" illustrations.

  Yes, I'm going to college and I find the exact same situations that you describe. I just wish I'd gone years ago. I could have had a few degrees by now. But, as they say, it is never too late. One of the things I find encouraging is the ads on the subways here in NYC which encourage college. These ads feature 60, 70, and 80 year old men and women who have recently gone back to college and obtained their degrees in various fields. So I always tell myself that if they can do it at their age, I can do it too and I'm only 41.

  And I'm really enjoying college. I also believe that in most cases a degree will get you a better paying job.

  The borg took a lot away from many of us. But I'm glad to see that many of us are getting right in there and taking back what was denied us by going back to school and doing things for ourselves.

  That assembly experience was full of sh!@#$%!

  1. take full and complete responsibility for their part in the bad policies with respect to blood, sexual molestation, and shunning.

  a nearby congregation announced that due to the society's winning the case in the supreme court concerning door to door work, territories that have not been worked in 2 years, will now be worked.

  publishers should no longer contact the local police dept.

  before they go in the field, no longer should they tell the police where they will be working or what cars they will be driving, including license plates.

  I was going to say the exact same thing about 30 Years A Watchtower Slave. It is the same old tactic. They want to stir up so-called 'persecution' to try and preserve that "us against the world" mind control attitude in the remaining braindead borg drones.

  That book was very enlightening as to the real agenda of the borg.
