I bought my copy yesterday. I liked the movie in theater, cant wait till the weekend to pop it into the dvd player. I like scary movies, missed out on a lot of them while in the borg.

If you want a good scandal/laugh you have to start one!
Here is what you do. Attend the Watchtower study and raise your hand at most serious question of the study, then quickly put the mike next to your @ss and let err rip!

What to think of this statement .
by kls inwhen i was studying[ but baptised ]at my home some 20years ago ,with an elder from our hall, i asked him a question about christians wearing a cross .to me it was a symble of rememberence,a sacrafice.
i asked why jws dont, or wont wear a symble of jesus dieing on a stack either on their neck or in their home ,a symble of rememberence?
his reply was" if a loved one died in a car accident would you wear a rememberence of the car around youre neck?

I always wondered what would happen if I walked into the hall wearing one. I can imagine the looks and gasps! lol
I think they are cute for jewlery, but personally i dont hold any religious connection to it.

JW Women
by Sassy inpurple had a thread about sisters and feeling left out or forgotten and while i do totally relate to what she posted about and agree with it from personal experience, what i experienced as a married jw wife i found more intollerable and it was one of the reasons that i ceased to be a jw.
it is one thing to be a woman and single and feel like you miss out on some social activities because you aren't a "couple' or a "couple where both are jws" and that does stink..
but be a woman who is married and your husband is a 'so called jw'.. you have no rights.. you can not even talk to the elders without your husband in their presense.

Home school
by Globetrotter inmy son told me the other day that he and his sister are just about the only kids at the kh their age that go to public/private schools.
almost all the other kids are home-schooled.
i was rather shocked.

I home schooled my children. It was against my will. Nevertheless to be "in subjection" I did it. I will say I did not enjoy it. I was always worried that they were lacking in social skills. I was wanting a greater education myself, Like going to law school or something. I always loved school so much and wanted my children to have that joy. So instead of working I was stuck at home, and my elder ex had a low paying job to "keep his eye simple". Guess what ended up happening. With added burden of buying their education and me not working we had to go on public assistance!!!!!! It stayed like that for a while, and i was so angry and was complaining every day.
I finally got the courage to kick him to the curb and put the kids in school. I myself got a good job. We are all happy and doing well now. That was 2 years ago and the kids are now 12 and 8. They made a&b honor roll!

DEMONS! Experiences With Demons While IN "The Truth?
by Hunyadi inhello all.. i am compiling information about jw's and former jw's who seemed to either have an extra sensativity toward demons, or who had outright experiences with them.
these experiences may include ambiguous contact as well, ie, "i'm not sure what the hell it was, but it was weird.".
what did you do during the experience to resist or make the demon(s) go away?.

Hey, no name callin
But seriously, this is a very controversial topic. There are a lot of people on here who can help and understand what you need. Me personally I am sitting on the fence.

Clapping
by Stefanie ini was just remembering in the hall i attended, the "friends" would clap when someone got reinstated, then they stopped when there was a talk from the platform about it being inappropriate.
i was just wondering why they say something like that.
and it would seem to me that people going back in were doing them a favor, why would they be so cruel.

Thanks Blondie I was not seeing it like that. I forgot the WBTS accepts child molesters. I was just thinking of a friend who that happend to.
Sorry

Grudge? Well God damn if the person they had sinned against was truly in the "faith" then they should have forgiven them. If not then moved congregations. I remember when familes whould leave by the handful. I just remember it being ok to clap all them years until this one person was reinstated. Guess they sinned against an elder.

I hear you about the prodical son BullSh#t. It would make me happy to be able to talk to my "freinds" that came back. I was shocked when that happened, we already had ignored her for a year, the elders probably thought- why not give her one last kick in the teeth!-
