Jeez. At least you know how she really feels. Sad, but at least you can know and begin coming up with a plan in the event things go real bad.

Interesting conversation
by Freeof1914 inas some of you know several weeks ago i was disfellowshipped for several reasons, but primarily my thoughts on the organization.
last night i had a very interesting conversations with my wife after she came back from the meeting and several things jumped out at me that made see even more clearly how sick this religion is.
first of all, several months ago we attended a wedding of a friend.

My chat with 2 Dubs yesterday about UN membership
by jookbeard ini live close to a resonanbly busy street, 20 odd shops banks, a train station,a couple of cafes and coffee shops etc and usually see dubs doing street work close to the station and i'm now on nodding terms with an elder who is out most days of the week and have got close to recognizing most of the hard core of about a dozen of them , i was walking out of the cafe yesterday to be greeted by a couple of newbies i'd never seen before , a scruffy short dumpy man and a fairly well presented middle aged lady, i'll try and abridge the conversation as best as i can, we must have chatted for about 15 minutes and it was all in a good mannered style;.
me " have you sold many of those this morning ?".
jw guy " oh no we dont sell them we give them away for free" (like i didn't know that).

Nice. I bet the elders get a lot of questions about the UN.

"New light" and BLOOD ...
by EdenOne ini just had a flash in my head.. in the wt 07/2013, the "new light" is basically saying that there was no appointment of a faithful and discrete slave in the christian era until 1919. if this is true, then no "spiritual food at the proper time" was served after jesus' resurrection, for over 1886 years.
that means that the decree of the "apostles and older men" in jerusalem, recorded in acts 15:24-29, isn't "food at the proper time", and shouldn't be mandatory for christians.
this includes the order to "abstain from blood".

Great point. Good thinking. :) Too bad it would not discard Jude. He quotes from the book of Enoch and references Tartarus.

Men who lived almost a thousand years.....it makes me speculate!
by Terry ini was waking up out of a sound sleep and a complete thought presented itself to me.. i should write it down.. so here goes.. the bible says adam lived 930 years.
methuselah lived 969 years.. now.... that led to other thoughts.... seems more likely the old stories of adam and methuselah use a word misunderstood by some later writer and maybe a confusion resulted.. maybe the word should have been moons.
like the apache use to say, "i've lived many moons...".. after all, the word month is a corruption of the earlier word moonth which means 30 days.. the lunar calendar was a very popular means of counting time waaaaaay back in the olden days.. .

Terry I like your reasoning on the the age and wisdom they would have. Hard to believe they would have been alive while those damn Nephilim were running amok.

Well they base the GB off the old Supposed GB of the first century. Would they say the old GB was anointed and slave? Or does it sayspefically that no slave until 1919?

When I was learning TTATT I read COC. It was a mind f$@&. I felt like I was waking up from a coma, but I hadn't woken... I was still groggy and confused. I chose comatose. The avatar is obvious. But, it was quite funny that I got a winking devil when I joined. I already felt guilty! A winking devil? Really!?!

If man evolved?
by tornapart ini know anyone who believes in evolution is going to say that there is no 'if' about it.
however.... if man evolved over hundreds of thousands of years ago, why were there only about 200-300 million people alive 2,000 years ago?
surely there'd have been many billions by then?.

Jgnat- I like the tree ring dating as it should show a pretty bad year when the flood hit. Actually, if you think about it, maybe there shouldn't even be years after the flood. The rings should all show a catastrophe about 6,000 years ago with a huge die off.
