I Didn't See That Coming

i was raised on air force bases in the us and asia until i was 10 or 11. my mother divorced my father while he was on an unaccompanied tour in turkey and hooked up with my uncle.

she married him and his children became our step-brothers and sisters.

i saw my father once when he got back to the states and not again until almost 30 years later.. after two years, my uncle put his children in an orphanage and my mother dispersed her children to the four winds so she could be free to be with my uncle without all the problems eight children who hated each other brought.. my story begins in 1977 in an old farm house in corinth, kentucky, without running water or heat, just electricity for lights and cooking.

this is not monumental... i am sure all of you think it all the time.. but as a 3rd gen born-in ex-elder ex-pioneer ex-bethelite i spent so much time in this relion believing that for some reason that god, who loves all humans and created all things only wanted a few people to get knowledge of him - and this small group in america was his choice.. .

now as i said i am sure 99% of you probably came to that realization before and it is common sense, but the very fact that as a grown man i never really thought about this for more than 15 seconds.

the whole idea is just ridiculous and freaking stupid.

Hang in there. For some reason I'm different than you. My guilt has been non existent. I feel so comfortable. Remember its not just about doctrine. Ask yourself, why were Neanderthals around 20k years ago? Did God make them and not care about them? You have no reason to feel guilt. You are going to be just fine. I hope you find some peace.

i just recently woke up after the new understanding of the fds was announced and it seemed to me to smack of power-grabbing.

i started looking at all the websites we're not supposed to, and now i know why.

Yes, I used the the side bar in the recent magazine on IVF being gross misuse of sexual organs and pornea. Wife said, what the hell? Let me read that. Then said, that is not pornea. Just get him thinking. But, even if his answer isn't one you agree with, don't argue or disagree. The goal is to get him thinking logically with his own mind.

Go slow, relax, breathe, and go for long walks. I started yoga. It's been a lifesaver.

Hey there! First off, try to relax. I know it's mind numbing and horrible. I'm there right now too. I'm born in, MS, ex pioneer, third generation JW. I woke up first and it was terrifying in a way not knowing how to talk to my wife. Steve Hassan books as recommended are good. The main thrust of the book is using love and reassurance without dumping tons of info on your loved one. It's all about getting their real mind thinking and not the cult mind. Cult minds say - wait on Jehovah. What are his hot buttons? Ask him opinion questions then agree with him regardless of his answer to reinforce his right to think critically. I took it very slow with my wife and when we finally did into a deep talk surprisingly she had some doubts of her own different than mine but there non the less. We are both in agreement on how to raise our child and both fading now.

You can do this. It will be okay. Most important thing is slow down and relax. The cult teaches you to live like your dying tomorrow. You are not! You have all the time in the world. Go slow.

Fictious "Universal Sovereignty" Issue Proposed By Watchtower Corporation Is Idiotic

ok so a big part of the wt corporation ideological structure is the invention of the issue before all creation being "universal sovereignty".. the story goes like this very basically:.

for untold years jehovah's soverneignty was never challenged, then after so many millions of years jehovahs started his earthly creation with adam&eve being the culmination of that work.

soon afterwards satan seduces eve to disobey jehovah and thus we have the very first act of disobedience satan slanders god by telling eve god is selfish as to the reason he forbids eating this other wise nice looking fruit adam joins his wife in the rebellion.. god in his infinite wisdom allows this rebellion because this was a challenge to his sovereingty and so he is allowing a reasonable amount of time to let mankind and angels see for themselves that his rulership is better that satan's.. so basically it is like a bet he has with satan or who's rulership is best, and he's allowing time to prove his is far superior.. well if you look at it logically it don't add up.. 1. if god is going to allow satan to prove his point about who's rulership is better why is he alway interfereing and interveining that's unfair.. 2. god goes on killing sprees of people man women and chilldren (not very smart for some trying to prove his rulership is better for people to follow.. 3. god show himself to be jealous (not a good trait for a ruler to endear himself to people).. 4. god's scare people to except his ruler ship.. and i have even more reason to show the whole idea is a made up sham..

I posted this in the other thread but I'm reposting it here too as this was one of my waking up moments. When you realize some of these things do not make sense...

On top of all that's been said. God hasn't really let people try to rule themselves or played fair according to the bible. First he lets angels come down here to mess things up for us humans. How could that be fair if we are trying to do it ourselves. They dominated and had super kids who dominated people. Is that a fair chance at living? Then he kills everyone but a guy and his 3 kids who sees it his way and starts over with a flood, because the earth is so bad after the demons came down. Then when humans are again off to a start just 120 or so years later building something that is so impressive it worries God, he makes them not able to communicate and scatters them across the earth. He sends the Devil and demons back to earth and causes WWI. All to prove we can't do it ourselves. Does that sound fair?
