Today was my D-Day ... I beat the odds!

last year on july 15th, 2002, my cardiologist gave me less than a year to live.

with the 14 remaining blocked arteries, there was not much hope.

even a by-pass would only correct 3 or 4 arteries and give me a slight lease on life.

Easy question for JW's.........

it was brought out at recent meeting that we must stay close to "jehovah's organization" and follow closely the "admonitions" found in the watchtower magazine because we know that the information found in the watchtower is given directly to us by jehovah himself.

question for the believing witness?

1) if by your own teaching's you believe that jehovah is a god of truth and cannot ever tell non -truths, how do you explain why the watchtower has changed it's "understanding" of scriptures so many times?

I remember this one elder that waved a watchtower in the air and said "I view the watchtower as a letter straight from Jehovah." That was one of the things that pushed me right on out the door. As stupid as I am even I could see blatant ~~ignorance~~ inconsistency in that.

When did the WTB&TS "Jump the Shark?"

inspired by the website of the same name, when do you think the society "jumped the shark".

for those who don't know what that phrase means, jumping the shark is the moment something (such as a tv show) begins it's downward spiral.

the name comes from when "fonzie" actually jumped the shark while water skiing on the tv show crappy happy days, complete with leather jacket.

I think the Bible prophecy clearly showed 1975 to be when the WT would "Jump The Shark".
Can it be mere coincidence that Armageddon failed to appear on schedule but JAWS reared it's ugly head instead?

i longed for the day when the last of the anointed remnant was on his/her death bed and all of the witnesses awaited to be swept away into the new system.. who knew that they could just, with one stroke of "new light" change everything and do away with this hope/doctrine.

how many times did i preach it from door to door and misrepresent god and the bible!

If you're annointed you just know. However, there are those "in the know" (those that knew long before you knew) that know you're not. Basically it just makes for lots of interesting gossip about those that think they have become annointed without prior consent of the WT. WT as you are all aware has full veto power over HS (Holy Spirit, not Hillary Step).

anyone else here care to admit they would rather let others do the difficult research for them?

once in the psycho hospital, we played a "game".

(keep in mind that games in such settings were either only a means to keep us from killing ourselves or the other inmates between smoke breaks, or to assist us in gaining insight into our natures (this was never the case except in the following instance.).
