y'no, i find that since i left the borg, i know more about whats in the literature and programs than when i was in.

when your going through the motions,er, meetings, you kind of skate along.

you read enough of the mags to place them, and listen to other zealots ( like my sister) prattle on about little nuggets of something other than gold, in the latest mag.

I think that many experience this because you are now 'out of the woods' as it were and can see the wood despite the trees. When your mind has been conditioned to see only red beans, say, even in a pile of multicoloured beans you will only see the red ones and to make sure you do they put filters on your eyes and ears - as has been mentioned, the so called 'honest hearted ones' ( how I hate that word - ONES, loyal ones, these ones etc). This is classic emperors new clothes stuff and this is reinforced in the WT. One WT said - in paraphrase - that if you could not think of any blessings that happened to you recently, then you should examine your relationship with Jehovah to see what you were doing wrong. Ergo, no one has not been blessed recently and you start seeing blessings in any and every situation. When your mind is freed from this slavery it is like being given x-ray vision and you wonder why no-one else can't see through the con. But they can't and just sit there nodding in agreement and clapping and the like. I remember one terminally dull assembly (by anyones standards) when I was on the fade and a 'zealous' bro came to talk to me; I said 'Are you enjoying the assembly?', his reply was 'Cracking assembly, cracking'. I was really hoping against hope that he might say 'No, it's as dull as ditch water' but no chance.

we had a boe letter read recently.

the september 2006 awake will be 100% dedicated to the "creation vs. evolution" issue.. even the "young people ask" article will be something like "how can i defend my belief in creation in school?

also, i think one of the articles is entitled "does the bible support the notion that the earth was created in 6 24-hour days?".

the watchtower magazine has used the word "soon" on many an occasion to point out to its readership how near armageddon really is.. a word that can mean anything, in effect, actually means nothing.

consequently, let's examine what "soon" actually means by definition and use.. there can only be three stages of time:.

HYPOCRITICAL QUOTES FROM THE MAY 15TH WT....

this is just unreal.......i cannot believe they have the nerve to actually put this stuff into print, but here's the proof that there's no limit to their insanity-----or their hypocrisy:

page 26: "..a preoccupation with the future...prevents us from seeing the present as it is" noted one american philospher.......even jehovah's worshippers are not immune tot his pattern of thinking.

(gee, i can't imagine why) what if we become so preoccupied with future physical blessings that we are blind to our present-day spiritual blessings?........we could easily become discouraged and feel 'sick at heart because our expectations have been post-poned beyond what we imagined (or, what we were promised)........we could develop a complaining attitude.

What exactly are these spiritual blessings? I have tried to enumerate them to see if I could. I could not come up with a single 'Blessing'. In reality, they are psuedo-blessings that have no shape or form and they reside in our imagination. It is rather like the emporers new clothes, everyone talks about the bountious blessings but no-one can actually say what they are. Were you to ask they might say the books, the bible truths, the brotherhood, but these are not blessings because they are common place in any JW type organisation. To compensate for this lack of tangible blessings, anything 'good' that happens is called a blessing. Start a study and it becomes fine blessing. Get a number 1 talk 'Oh he's been blessed with a No 1 talk' The WT adds to this subterfuge and makes JW's look for blessings when none are there AND if the can't find one then their standing with God is brought into question. I read this in a WT a few months ago, words to the effect that if you cannot think of any blessing that has occured recently, then look to yourself and your relationship with God. Someone out there might remember it. The 'brotherhood' only exists at the kingdom hall. When you go home, the warm fuzzy feeling you might have got soon cools off and you realise that you are alone again. The elders & MS's are only elders & MS's at the hall. Elsewhere they are nothing. The whole thing is based on no-one stating the obvious on pain of expulsion for destroying the illusion. 1984 really sums it up.

Seems to me now, as the bible says that Christ left for us a model, to follow his footsteps closely. No where is it shown that Jesus followed an organisation. He left an example of how we should treat people and expounded love and turning the other cheek. As has been mentioned, Love your neighbour as yourself. The bible also says '..to the making of many books there is no end and much devotion to them is wearisom to the soul, the end of the matter, everything having been heard is fear the true God and keep his commandments for this is the whole obligation of man' ( It was always a puzzel as a small child why there were so may books at the KH which we had to study when I read that scripture) Well, Jesus told us - fear God, love your neighbour as yourself. What more do you need. No organisation can better that. The trouble with organisations and religions, for me, is this: they start out OK, but then someone always wants to start to tell you what to do and make you agree with his/her point of view and to make sure you do they invent this rule and that rule and then rules need rules and you end up with what was a loose association of like minded individuals turning into the WTBTS or some other such thing. Christ died for me. I will stand before God at the appointed time as an individual. There is no group judgement. You stand or fall by your own life actions. Do what Christ said and you won't go far wrong That is my 2 p's worth

I asked a witness what it was that was the defining moment when Christ bestowed all his belongings and said 'It's YOU!' How was it made manifest what happened. What was it that made them know that they had been chosen. He was stumped because he had never thought about it. None of them do.

I have a particular distaste for the word 'Class' in this context, it smacks too much of 'Judge' Ratherafraud and his attacks on people who did not support is ramblings - Olyin Moyle and Walter Salter for example who were branded as of 'This class' not to mention countless other poors souls. Then there were the unending other classes - Jonadab 'Class' Elijah 'Class', the Class 'Class'. I agree with the sentiments of truthseeker and I think that there is another sort of Witness as well. This one is in it for the power - where else could a no-body become powerful and hold sway over peoples lives. I have seen the most obnoxious little hitlers strutting their stuff at the KH putting the fear of God into people. These cretins have no Christain qualities but get there kicks from being overly righteous over much and spouting garbage from the stage (for that is what it is to them). The WTBTS will continue as long as there are people to buy-in to the ideology and people prepared to suspend intelligent thought and sell it. As one poster alluded, they are in it for the end result and are not too concerned about the where's and why-for's. It becomes a comfy home with a modicum of stability - they 'know' why they are here, where they are going and why the world is in its present state. They are not bothered about 607 or 589, they don't have a thought about 1914,1920,1925...75 et-al. They go out, proffer the 'mags' parrot an answer at the meetings go to the assemblies and lead a relativley ordered life. paradoxically, I used to wish I did not know about the JW's and was just an ordinary person and didn't have to do those things - why me, I would think. Sometimes, I now wish I did not know the the truth about the JW's and was just an ordinary dub again, so cosy, so comfy in my little world. Damn it brain, why did you have to start thinking mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm thinking DOH!

now that he has at last got his self righteous come-uppance and been booted out of the brownies it looks like he is trying to be an alternative jw.com, but will fail just as his ramblings have failed him.

I should point out here that it is election night in the UK and I have had one or two beers and so if I start to rant and foam over the pompusss ass that EWM is, that might go some way to explaining it.
