Such a beautiful thought Quirky1,
Oh how I'd like to be with them singing praises to JeHOvaR.
i pretty much know the answer, but would like to hear other peoples opinions.. .
they can be so nice and then act so cold at times.
while been disfellowshipped they discovery that there is more to life and start to rebel.
All said, in my experience, there do seem a disproportionate number of multiple personality disordered people attracted to and left zombified by the Jehovah's Witness religion. Whether their Watchtower induced anxieties exasabate a pre-existing condition or expand on one already present can only be judged on a case by case basis.
One of my sisters has this condition (most likely bought on by early child abuse), my ex-wife likewise and a disfellowshipped woman I work alongside. All three have the condition complicated no end by Watchtower brainwashing and Kingdom Hall snobery/hierachical oppression.

isn't it funny to think the wt claims to have anything to do with spirituality?
i mean, here is a business that measures how "spiritual" you are by the number of hours you spend each month serving the corporation.
its most respected "spiritual" leaders have business titles like "circuit overseers" and "district overseers".

The spiritual mecca that many travel to every year is a book publishing factory.
Amazing that JWs can't see the obvious- the WT is nothing more than a business thinly disguised as a religion.
Objection your honour!
I reckon it's thickly disguised as a religion.

i hate riding the fence.
if someone asked me right now if i believed in a creator (or creators), i would still say i don't know, in spite of everything i know about current science.. what's my hangup?
believe it or not, it's one thing.
g'day easyreader1970,
I can't fathom the everything from nothing/ something always existed thing either.
The great discovery for me was that my mind is completely free now. I don't need answers to any of that stuff and anyway it's much more fun just exploring the questions and developing one's own philosophies and anti-philosophies. Just trust the god within mate and you'll be fine.
unclebruce, australian by birth, taoist by nature.
i am inspired to start this topic because of something i stumbled across in an answer to parakeet on another thread.. he has some deruta majolica.
this is the heraldy crest for the deruta family.
it has a very exotic looking watchtower as its central theme.. i believe i have seen in a photograph somewhere, a similar one that actually exists.. i wonder what sinister meanings lurk behind the concept of watchtowers.. there has to be something very evil here since one of the most vile religions i know of has named its foundation after this structure.. let's see what we come up with.. .
Jehovah's Witness piety requires a separation of the 'faithful and discreet' to their own tower that bit closer to heaven.

The Essence of This CallAccording to the above said it is clear that h e who would like to become immortal should join neither a true religion, nor Abraham, nor Balaam, nor Israel, nor Ishmael, nor Buddha, nor Confucius, nor Zoroaster, nor Mohammad, nor Pope, nor Crimean Pope, nor Luther, nor Kelvin, nor Mormon, nor Rudometkin, nor Pashkov, nor Vilman, nor Leon Deroni, nor Rabbi the Great, nor Melchizedek the Greatest1), but YEHOWAH ... blah blah blah ..
That statemen seems a tad contradictory to their reason for being (I can't spell raison detra).
Apart from physical 'fleshly' desires, what do a 34 year old man and 16 year old girl have in common? Of course it's not about that but dominance and good old fashioned patriachal power. And I guess it's a matter of promising people what they want. Thus the appeal to a man's lust and a woman's vanity.
I can't believe I read all that crap. Our own JC Bibleman can write much better bible bollocks
it was october and the indians on a remote reservation asked their new chief if the coming winter was going to be cold or mild.. since he was a chief in a modern society, he had never been taught the old secrets from the past.
the coming winter going to be cold?".
"yes," the man at national weather service again replied,.
I like the circular, self perpetuating logic and the Chief's discovery that he was a prime cause.

g'day fjtoth,
personally I don't see anything evil in the term itself but the brand Watchtower is an interesting metaphor to explore in understanding the organization's true nature. There is certainly nothing 'evil' implied in the tarot (at least I hope not - my card being 'the tower').
An apostate goat tower:
the 1963 book babylon the great has fallen: god's kingdom rules is now online:.
http://www.strictlygenteel.co.uk/babylon/babylontitles.html.
this book was the authoritative interpretation of revelation chapters 14 to 22 up until the revelation book came out.
true possible-san.
but there was a old pick with a very weary drunken harlot riding the beast but I haven't been able to find it.
Maybe it was in the Finished Mystery book.
