we used to use this scripture to show that there was going to be a future resurrection.

but recently i got to thinking about it.

if the apostle paul was right in saying that the righteous on death would be changed in the twinkling of an eye from earthly life to heavenly glory why would there be a future resurrection needed for the righteous?

JWs believe that the apostles and faithful dead went to heaven in 1918 i.e., the first resurrection began in 1918. That resurrection will be complete within the lifespan of a single overlapping generation.

While that is true they also teach that the resurrection has not even begun yet and will begin with Jesus' Matt 24:30 arrival when the 1,000 years begin...

[John 6:39 This is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose none out of all those whom he has given me, but that I should resurrect them on the last day.]

[7-1-98 WT p.21 par.12 - That “last day” coincides with the Thousand Year Reign of Christ. (Revelation 20:6) Imagine the excitement during that “day” when this grand event begins!]

[5-1-90 WT p.26 par.9 - Martha knew about that hope from her association with Jesus, for she had previously said to him regarding Lazarus: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” (John 11:24) She knew that the resurrection would be, not on his (Lazarus’) last day, but in the future, “on the last day”—Judgment Day, when the dead would be raised under God’s Kingdom rule.]

[12-1-89 WT p.9 - The judgment will take place “in the last day,” during Christ’s Thousand Year Reign.]

Paul says nothing about anyone being transported from planet earth.

[1 Thessalonians 4:15-17…the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first. Then we the living who are surviving will, ‘at the same time’ with them, be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we shall always be with the Lord.]

[Matthew 24:30 And then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in lamentation, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send forth his angels with a great trumpet sound, and they will gather his chosen ones together from the four winds, from one extremity of the heavens to their other extremity.]

Peace and security

scrolling through the news this morning and i couldn’t help to think we are light years from any leaders crying out peace and security.

jws are going to have to wait another decade or two and see how things develop before they get excited about armageddon coming in their lifetime.

Like so much of other teachings from the WTS that they are wrong on, they are wrong on this as well.

The prophesy of saying peace and security and the destruction that occurs thereafter does not occur kicking off the GT, it occurs kicking off Armageddon.

The saying peace and security is tied to Rev 11:10 which occurs AFTER the 42 months (GT)...

[Rev 11:10 And those dwelling on the earth rejoice over them and enjoy themselves, and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those dwelling on the earth.]

kosonen, once again you are obviously aware of many correct things to happen but then you do a 180 adding in a bunch of nonsense. All the UN stuff correct...all the planes, fuel prices, going to Australia talk...is nonsense.

And Gog's attack does not come AFTER the UN attack...the UN and Gog prophesy are one in the same. And on your other thread you said that the UN gets it's power AFTER the 1,260 days and on this thread you state the UN is in power for the 42 months...which is what I pointed out on the other thread.

to get an idea, it could be helpful to discern when those days end relative to time times and half a time.. i see a possibility that the 2300 days end the same day as the 1260 days.

that is because the woman in revelation 12 will be fed 1260 days.

kosonen, you are obviously aware of the numerous overlapping prophesies but you are way off on thinking the UN comes to power AFTER the 1,260 days end. That period of time is the time when it will be in power. (Rev 17:13, 13:5, 11:2)

Are you aware that the alignment that occurred in Sept 2017 also occurred in 1827, 1483, 1293, and 1056...

Why didn't the 2,300 days start at any of those times?

i`ll list a few things and welcome any input, comments you may have .. 1.when adam & eve "sinned" disobeyed him, surely god could have handled it better than to condemn all future generations to disease and death ?.

2.his handling of satan who supposedly seduced eve to disobey god could also have been done a lot differently with a finality to it.. 3.i find little if anything in his dealings with the patriarchs that suggests a loving god protecting them.?.

4.taking on the nation of israel and leading them as his chosen people does not inspire confidence or trust as a god of love.. 5.throughout the hebrew scriptures / old testament his chosen people were constantly at war with other nations which of course would have meant many deaths of the israelite`s during these battles .and the grief that comes with family members in those times.

You gave a reply back but you did not answer the questions.

Anyway, I know and you know that your answer would be that you would not want those 3 men on the island if those are the things they would be doing. If you were one of the 1,000 adults then you and the other 96 would agree that they must go and you would agree that you are justified in removing/killing them. It would not be an unloving thing to do but to the contrary it would be a loving thing for the sake of the 500 children and the 97 adults.

You can distort the picture of God and Armageddon to fit inline with what you think it is but the truth is ONLY evil ones are killed.

First thing there would be no going back to the WTS for me...I am not and was never a JW.

What is your issue with just answering the questions?

Would you feel it is okay for them to be there to do those things or would you want them to be removed from the island?

If you would want them to be removed, would that be unjust/unloving?

Would it be unjust/unloving to shoot the one breaking into your home?

LOL...such evasion! You say that you would want them removed and not killed but if I asked you the same question worded differently you would state that you would want them killed. You refuse to answer the questions clear and honest because you know what it will reveal.
