What's the point?

i mean, i don't want to be miserable or anything, but what's the bloody point of it all?.

since i left the watchtower cult, i have come to realise that god cannot possibly exist...and if a god exists...god is indifferent to humankind as the least.. in 100 years time i'll be gone.

In 100 years time I'll be gone. Kaput. No memory. Not even sleeping. I won't be in heaven or living on in any way what so ever. All my hopes and dreams will have gone.
I couldn't commit suicide (although, I've tried before), I don't wanna die………… what's the bloody point to anything? It's all so futile. Transient. Always ends in tears.

We all agree that this verse above contains the YHVH in the Hebrew Scriptures.

Now look at when they translated the Hebrew Scriptures into Greek they replaced the YHVH with Κυρίου (Lord)

So being that in the Old Testament (Hebrew Scriptures) in a place where you know the YHWH was but was replaced with Κυρίου (Lord) it is no surprise to find that they did it there in the New Testament when quoting a Scripture from the Old Testament.

So who can claim that the YHVH never appeared in the original writing of the New Testament at least in every place where Old Testament Scripture are quoted? And who can claim that the YHWH was not in additional places in the New Testament and not just where Old Testament Scripture are quoted?

This is news to me. You're saying in 1899, all denominations of Christianity used "Jehovah"? Then in 1900, they suddenly stopped? I hadn't heard that before. Learn something new every day.

Did or did not Jesus say in Matthew 6:9 to let the name be sanctified???

Did or did not Peter quote from the book of Joel…and what name is found there???

Was the tradition that started in the refusal to not pronounce the name…was it started by:

3) the apostles

4) the Jewish leaders

I do support the use of the name JEHOVAH and it has nothing to do with the NWT or some monk.

If johnamos is trying to justify the use of "Yahweh", well that term already appears in most, (probably all) bible translations

Again, it is the name JEHOVAH that I am supporting not Yahweh and JEHOVAH can be found in these bible translations and not one of then are the NWT.

It is said to mean ________ is judge.

Now look at what part of the name that contains the meaning ‘judge’

Is it:

Anyone honestly answering would have said #2 based on using just the part that was left.

Now look at this name again:

The first part (In Hebrew from right to left) is what makes up the YEHO/JEHO and the rest is what makes up shaphat and actually what you are seeing there in Hebrew is really YHSHPHT/JHSHPHT and the vowels E O A are added in and yet no one has an issue with that.

Now in the following we have the same first part (from right to left):

יהוה YHVH/JHVH

The other part would be the YHVH/JHVH

Using the same vowels (E O A) that make up Yehoshaphat (Jehoshaphat) and inserting them in the יהוה YHVH/JHVH we have YEHOVAH/JEHOVAH

Note- the underlined here is accepted as already pointed out in the name Yehoshaphat (Jehoshaphat).

I watch my kids. It is the responsibility of parents to protect their children and not to delegate that to the WT, elders or fellow congregants and to blame them when parents fail to do so. If you failed to protect your child in the first place resulting in him being harmed by another person or if you suspect a child is being harmed, why don't you go to the authorities and report it?

יהוה YHVH YeHoVaH (JeHoVaH)

The following is to show you that the form of spelling of the name JEHOVAH is appropriate for God’s name.

As you can see there are Hebrew names that start with a Y but it is common in the English language to change the Y to J. Also you can see in the names that have the prefix ‘Yeho/Jeho’, the vowels E and O are used.

And in the names where the suffix ‘yah/iah’ is used, just as it is common for the Y to become a J, it is also common for the Y to sometimes become an I, but the point here to focus on is that the vowel A is used here in this suffix.

So with vowels E, O, and A in use in these Hebrew names and given the fact of what these names are said to mean, it seems very reasonable that these same vowels would be inserted in the Tetragrammaton-YHVH.

יהושפט Yehoshaphat (Jehoshaphat) [YHVH Is Judge]
יהושע Yehoshua (Jehoshua) [YHVH Is Salvation]
זכריה Zekharyah (Zechariah) [YHVH Has Remembered]

Also something to keep in mind is that when we use the name ‘Jesus’, that is not the name that Mary and Joseph gave/called him…it was actually Jehoshua.

The following is a look at how we arrived at the name Jesus.

Greek for Yeshua is Iesous
Latin for Iesous is Iesus
English for Iesus is Jesus

Bear in mind that being what that name is said to mean and being that Jesus himself said that he came in the name of his father, then it is reasonable to conclude that there would be some form of the name of his father found in his name.

so... bro flodin puts poison onto the first loaf of bread and says that this pictures someone "sinning against the holy spirit".

he then puts the bread into the trash can stating that jehovah completely discards anyone "sinning against the holy spirit"... meaning they cannot ever be forgiven...he says that the pharisees "sinned against the holy spirit" because they denied indisputable evidence of the operation of jehovah's holy spirit displayed by jesus... therefore jehovah would completely discard them... no way back for them.. fast forward a little... we have the bible character stephen...acts 6:8 says: now stephen, full of divine favor and power, was performing great wonders and signs among the people.so stephen was showing indisputable evidence of the operation of jehovah's holy spirit.now we come to the bible character paul (saul)... he was a pharisee.paul would have seen stephen in action... witnessing the indisputable evidence of the operation of jehovah's holy spirit first hand!yet paul not only waged war against all christians but he personally approved the killing (stoning) of stephen.according to the bread illustration paul should have been discarded by jehovah at this point for "sinning against the holy spirit"... he would have been put in the trash can... no way back at all...but what happened according to the bible?

jesus appeared to him on the road to damascus... he became one of the most zealous apostles in bible history with jehovah's full support!so what on earth is the bread illustration all about?
