You jumped around from subject to subject and then loaded and fired the anti-watchtower material, which is not good toward your purposes.

by Julia Orwell inok i'm chatting on facebook with a guy who's studying with jws, who isn't yet an unbaptised publisher because he can't kick the cancer sticks.
now i don't believe in the bible anymore, but i say i do to get a bit of common ground with this guy.
it's a common attitude among jws.

i recently informed my wife of 25 years (the love of my life) that i just cannot go on any longer with this facade.

If she is the love of your life, then you would want to do everything with her. If she wanted to pioneer, you would be at her side for 100+ hours.
No matter how bad the meetings and ministry are you would put those feelings aside for her, if she was the love of your life.
If you value the relationship, you put everything else aside. But then if your heart is just into her and not what she is into, it will show by the lack of attention to what she is into.
I'm glad of my wife's sicknesses. Somedays she is too tired to go to the meetings. I don't go also. Saves gas and gets things done at home.
I'm tired of how she is too sick to do things around the house or work but yet will do things for the congregation. I tell her that she is trying to teach others about living a clean life, but lives in a dirty house. That is why I tell her that I don't do field service. It is a waste of time when we have so many other things that need to be done.
I do have the benefit of working Saturdays and Sundays and getting home late midweek so I don't go to meetings and field service.

What was your "Aha!" moment?
by Hortenzie infor me it was when i learned that gb makes their decisions by 2/3 majority vote, not by direction of holy spirit..

Add to it: On Survivor Redemption Island with Boston Rob. He told the ones in his tribe to use the buddy system to keep the other tribe from influencing them and upsetting Rob's alliance and if those in his alliance turn on him they will report it back to him and vote that one out. The result is that Rob could keep his pawns to benefit him.
At that tribal council, Julie from the other tribe said he was running it like a cult.
That got me thinking about how JWs go door to door in twos for protection from being influenced from changing their loyalties. They keep their association with other Witnesses and avoid association with non-Witnesses for the same reasons. In that Survivor season, Rob did that for his benefit, not for the benefit of those others. The Governing body instructs Witnesses for the GB's benefit, not the Witnesses' benefit. They are running it like a cult to keep their pawns.

by Captain Blithering inhttp://www.jw.org/en/news/

ten vans full, probably just for jw's.

emeth said: "JW Gonebad are you serious? do you think the ceo's , project managers and FTE's dont get salaries,.. do you think their offices come for free? Get real"
The full time workers for charities should not get paid over $30K as a regular livable wage. That is what people are protesting, those CEOs getting over $100K salaries and bonuses.

When: There is constant pressure to 'Marry only in the Lord', the reason they give is to please God. But to be in the Lord, one must study their books and go to their assemblies. The apostle Paul didn't hinge pleasing God on reading his letters and studying his material and going to his meetings. It was Christianity that he focused on.
Then to continue - Marry only in the Lord was not for the person's happiness, but to augment their business model, i.e. keep people going to meetings and out in service to keep them busy and contributing.
Then the clincher was to realize that their being against audio files and websites was not for the reasons they gave, but because it hurts their business model. Focusing attention on them to make people thankful to them and then to contribute. It is all about supporting them and we mean nothing. I just didn't want to mean nothing but a timeslip.

Do you give thanks for every meal?
by bruh indo you give thanks for every meal or do you thank god once for the whole day of meals???
is thanking god for every meal scriptural or something that came along in early christianity ?
?.

Prayers over meals originated when Jesus prayed over the fish and the bread that he miraculously multiplied.
That was a miracle to which he called on for holy spirit.
Such miracles don't happen today.
Some say that we thank God because the plants and animals originated with Jehovah's creation, however that was eons ago and an automatic process. That would be like thanking FDR for the FDIC or social security because he originated it rather than the workers today.
Thanks, gratitude, should be shown by what is done by the food, how the energy is used.

"I think Jehovah would forgive me for that"
It is sad that people think that Jehovah would hold missing meetings against them as if there was a roll call and attendance record.
The focus is on that a person that is there is more likely to put something in the donation box and when they value the meetings, they will thank the ones who provide them, the CCJW, aka, FDS, by providing for them.
When they get people addicted to the meetings, it is like a membership, like a health club, they know the people will be coming back week after week and pay their dues. That way they don't have to advertise for new members like non-member clubs to get them to pay.

A Challenge for Jehovahs Witness Apologists : Identify What Jesus Christ Has Accomplished In His Nearly Complete 100 Year Reign From 1914
by smiddy ini for one would be very interested , if you can quantify what his acheivements have been , these past almost 100 years .. incidental acheivements could do for a start ,.
followed by more meaningfull acheivements ,.
then to top it off , with his major acheivements that he can be accredited with these past 99 years of his kingdom rule ,.

What has been accomplished since Jesus' death?
Believe in the lord Jesus and you will get saved?
Has anyone been saved? NO!. Every one since that time has died.
Saved by going to heaven? We have no proof of that so what good is it? What good is this belief in going to heaven anyway. (That's another topic)
One can be near Jesus, but one has no needs so what does that amount to?

Fighting JWs on Facebook
by dogon inkind of new for me, but i have been letting go of being in fear of posting what i feel on fb.
i have been posting links to very good videos on youtube that show the history of the cult.
funny thing my one cousin posted how he missed a person who passed and that that god only takes the best to be with him.

I got removed from Witness's FB friends because when they posted about how happy they were about the new Bible, I posted some reality and they didn't like it. That is how it is with Witness forums.
Recently someone posted about the letter stating the combining of the MTS and the school for Christian couples, another poster commented that Jehovah is so good. I stated that the people in the Phillipines wouldn't think that Jehovah is good. I haven't seen what they said about that one yet. Their mindless euphoria is sickening.

MAJOR DOCTRINE CHANGE IN 1/15/2014 WT ON GENERATION TEACHING
by EndofMysteries inthe generation scripture no longer is speaking about 'the end'.
i'll quote it...... side note: tons of lies in this article, i'll point out at the end of the post.
"yet, jesus words at matthew 24:34 give us confidence that at least some of "this generation will by no means pass away" before seeing the start of the great tribulation.".

Why not do what I do? Don't have any belief in that matter and it can't be a lie and can't change.
It is possible that not everything that Jesus said was recorded so we are missing too much to draw conclusions on.
