Saw a hoarder MS and his well fed obese wife receive money several years in a row to go to the convention, even though they had money enough to go camping, to movies, out to eat, buy a new pickup. At the same time the poor sister with no family locally went without and missed the convention, but that was just fine. She could watch the elder's pets while they went.

It was always said that family or some social agency had that responsibility.
Just what the WT from last Sunday said. I noticed one person mentioned the picture of the poor woman who had fallen in the rain, broken her umbrella, broke her glasses, spilled her groceries, broken eggs, saying, "While it is good for the congregation to help AFTER the fact, wouldn't it be wonderful if the congregation was pro-active and helped BEFORE she had an accident?" There were many, including the eldurr conducting, who used the next several comments to basically verbally chastise the person who expressed kindness. One comment even was that the woman herself was to blame for not asking for help! So very sad!

As stated before, it's usually the sisters who initiate and organize any charity. The spiritual arrogant elders are way too busy and important to mess with details like the flock under their "care".
Very recently a number of sisters initiated and implememted a schedule to care for an elderly handicapped sister's even older invalid mother while the daughter was hospitalized. Strange thing about it was the sisters doing all the work, including overnight care, were also all older woman in their 50's to early 70's and not themselves the pictures of health. The younger women, the healthy son, and every single appointed brother couldn't be bothered with interupting their schedules to help.
I have notice it always seems to be the older, less healthy who do the most for others.

The scam is that he bought the land for $155,000 less than what it's worth, and the congregation has no idea this is what has happened. They are unaware that they have taken a huge loss so this elder trustee can make out like a bandit. Do you think this deal would have been approved had the facts been presented to the congregation?
ADCMS is correct.
In a secular vein, the president of a S&L that I know about did about the same thing, multiple times, with home loans. He would write the loan for way over fair market value, sell it to a holding company which he owned for pennies on the dollar, then claim the loss for his S&L, pocket the proceeds and he made millions, before the government caught up with him and sent him to prison with a ten year sentence.
BTW, are the initials of any of the principles D.V.?

Lying elders???
I would bet that I personally know at least one of them. Initials C. W. Came from Washington state at one time.
If so, I could tell many factual stories about this LYING, hypocrite!

The dumest thing an elder ever said to me..
by new hope and happiness inconversation with an elder...i said " did you watch due south yesterday" and he said " ive got far more important things to do".
i mean that comment of his got me to thinking and wondering, and made me see he was missing out on living..and i think that comment was the straw that broke this boys faith, and started my i dont want to be a witness anymore.
kind of wierd how a simple question opened my eyes.. and now as i write this i am watching " the rebel" a 1950s western series, and its great and its even better my 9 year old is watching with me..and there is nothing more important than being happy.. .

"I know they need some encouraging company, but it such a hassle to drive that far to visit with them."
Said when asked about visiting an elderly, ailing couple that lived fourteen miles from town.

So I just returned from a "memorial" service for one of the JW's I knew.
The eldurr pontificated about how death was the result of sin. Adam sinned, so we all have to bear the results of his sin, and so we die. Okay, so good so far, but then he used Exekial 18: 20 as the proof. The last half states, "A son will bear no guilt because of the error of his father, and a father will bear no guilt because of the error of his son. The righteousness of the righteous one will be accounted to him alone, and the wickedness of the wicked one will be accounted to him alone."
Isn't it "comforting" to know that those words are pretty well meaningless?
Adam, if one believes the story, sinned. But instead of Adam's wickedness being accounted to just him alone, billions of innocents are condemned to death for his sin.

Questions from Readers: Is Memorial Day appropriate for Christians?
by rebel8 inquestions from readers.
"is it appropriate for a christian to celebrate memorial day in light of its past pagan roots?".
many conscientious ones among jehovah's people today have wondered if christians should honor dead people on memorial day, in view of the fact that evidently jehovah judged them worthy of death.. first let us consider what most scholars agree is the original greek for the term "memorial day", meaning literally "a contemporary holiday to honor those who died by the sword.

...The WBT$ Theft of Kingdom Hall Bank Accounts and JW Elders...
by OUTLAW in.. the new wbt$ donation arrangement/ jw kingdom hall bank account theft... is a very hot topic right now... the wbt$ is literally going to clean out kingdom hall bank accounts, filled with donations from jws... that theft is going to happen world wide..the wbt$ is going to steal from 7 million plus jw`s... .. we have jw elders here on jwn, that know whats going on... they "serve" in kingdom halls, they are "supposed" to be looking after the welfare of the average jw... they know there is a 4 page letter, only one page will be read to the congregation..the rest will be kept secret... they know the wbt$ is about to steal jw donations..on a world wide scale!!!...
.. i would like to know what you active jw elders are going to do about this??!!...
are you going to let "your" congregation know about the other 3 secret pages?...

Any vote for a resolution, without full disclosure, is dishonest and should be seen as invalid.
I had the opportunity to see resolutions for the past 18 months in the area where I am. Without exception every single one of them had only the wording, "We the ____________ congregation of Jehovah's Witneses resolve to__________________. Below that were only two lines. One said, "In favor____," the other said, "Opposed______." Every single one of them had written in the "In favor" blank, "Unanimous." I know for a fact that THAT was not true as I had raised my hand as opposed on every one that entailed spending money that is essentially not there. Also there were no initials of the elders as required. IMO all these resolutions are invalid, that is why I do not give even one red cent any longer.

Did the GB ever receive new light without the passage of time forcing it upon them?
by Zoos in1914 did not bring the end they were hoping for so new light shone down from above and corrected their understanding.. 1925 also led to unfulfilled expectations and so new light was bestowed.. .
(i could go through all the dates and expectations... but i won't.).
what if the new light about 1914 being the year that christ returned was provided before 1914?

I can't even begin to count the numerous times I have heard the, "Many times we don't know that prophecy has been fulfilled until AFTER the fact, in the light of Bible verses."
IDK, but couldn't ANY event be twisted to fit almost ANY Bible verse, as the "interpreter" wished?
