@Village Idiot - a few packets on a steady basis may prompt them to adopt stricter policies which "may not appear practical from a human standpoint". That can be a good thing when it comes to showing the true face of Watchtower to the unthinking mail servants

Send the Watchtower Some Glittery Love
by jw07 inwhat is the mail screening process at headquarters like?
wouldn't it be great if the watchtower received a few hundred packets of sticky, messy glitter that clings to everything over the course of a week?.
this website is amusing to say the least.. http://shipyourenemiesglitter.com/.

New forum 'parousia' is upon us! (software version)
by Simon inthe time has nearly come to switch over to the new forum software.
of course it's not completely finished yet (and never will be) but i think it's good enough to go live with and probably already better than the current one.
i'll give you a quick overview of what to expect and post more detail about the changeover process later.. cloud platform.

Simon, you've accomplished more working on this forum in the past few months than Jesus has since he was *invisibly* installed as king in heaven in 1914.
Well done!!! :P

Could the allowance of blood fractions be curtailing the growth of the religion?
by Apognophos inso, imagine that you're just a regular joe who's not familiar with the witnesses and is looking for the answers to life, the universe, and everything.
you hear a knock at your door.
before long, you are studying with a jehovah's witness.

By JW logic fractions of fornication, and murder should be acceptable
Prosecution: "Are we to take it that you killed him Mr. Brown?"
Mr. Brown: "No sir, I merely strangled a fraction of his life out of him, I did not take his life a whole."

by jw07 inhave you seen this article?.
the watchtower is trying to be experts on all things having to do with human sexuality.. repressing sexual desires, gay or straight only creates more problems.. http://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/family/teenagers/ask/pressure-to-be-gay/.

Does Anyone Watch Ascension?
by jw07 inthis new series' pilot episode is the perfect allegory for the blind faith of the average person in the jw movement, those who deny that anything 'immoral' or sinister happens within the ranks, the double lives, doubters, and towards the end of the episode, an example of how the governing body controls persons' lives.
check it out and tell me if you saw all the parallels.
i think it's my new favourite show.. http://tv-series.me/2014/12/15/ascension-s1e1-season-1-episode-1/.

@androb31: Haha, that's funny. I was a bit disappointed when I found out it wasn't your typical space opera (trying not to give spoilers). The parallels are just so funny. Any ex-jws that watch it should be having many 'crap themselves' moments
So far I think the 'inside guy' is like a CO who makes sure that the Watchtower's will is enforced when others try to have a say.
The guy in control over the program is like the GB.
Can't wait for the next episode. It's not bad past the big reveal at the end of episode 1.

This idea might not be new, but does a website like this exist?
by ILoveTTATT ini am deeply upset every time there's someone in the news who has died because of the stupid and immoral blood doctrine.. i would like to make a website documenting every single instance of a news report of someone dying from lack of a blood transfusion, and to keep track of it.
that would give some data on the real and current incidence of deaths due to the blood transfusion doctrine.. is there already a website like that?.

JWs Social Media and Alcohol
by jw07 ina great part of social media's allure is that it makes some persons less conscious about revealing what interests them.
i've noticed an interesting trend in how jws (that i know) express their use of alcohol.. i have around 600 associates on on facebook, and just over 100 on instagram.
of that amount around 1/3 are jws, but i realise that they make the most posts about alcohol, and have the longest chain of comments on those posts.

A great part of social media's allure is that it makes some persons less conscious about revealing what interests them. I've noticed an interesting trend in how JWs (that I know) express their use of alcohol.
I have around 600 associates on on Facebook, and just over 100 on Instagram. Of that amount around 1/3 are JWs, but I realise that they make the most posts about alcohol, and have the longest chain of comments on those posts. It's very strange, there are never any comments discouraging drinking or being an alcohol exhibitionist, instead there is a celebratory attitude. I've also seen many of them repeatedly post:
1 Timothy 5: 23 "Do not drink water any longer, but take a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent cases of sickness."
It's so strange, it's like alcohol is the only guilty pleasure they can openly get away with in their child-like Watchtower induced state.
My non-jw contacts hardly post about alcohol at all. It's like 1 non-jw post about drinking to 50 JW posts.
Have you made any similar observations?
