Zeb, where were you baptized at, if you don't mind me asking? I was in Witchita, Kansas, summer of 1987. There was a little girl sitting next to me who was extremely young who was getting baptized.

HELP! - Asking for Baptism photos for university art/personal documentation project (they will not be published or made public)
by AGoodPigeon ini'm new here, but i've been an ex-witness since 2015 (not disfellowshipped, faded and inactive but no longer believing) and i'm working on an art/personal project gathering the bapstism photos of many different ex-witnesses.
i am asking that anyone who feels comfortable with it send me (private message me) their photos that they or others took on the day of their baptism (before, after, or during).
i will not post these online anywhere or publish them.

I don't have any photos of my time as a JW, other than my wedding pictures, and a couple of baby pictures. When I left the JWs, I very angry at everyone associated with that organization that I personally knew, I ended up mailing almost all my pictures to my biological mother, that had anything with her in it. That was after I got the most hateful letter from that bi*ch, I was making a huge statement, and I told her so in a not so friendly letter, and she got the message loud and clear. It was very therapeutic.

Will the Russian brothers start to wake up?
by nowwhat? inif i was a russian brother i would be wondering what exactly is the gb doing to help us out.
they are sitting in their lakeside corporate country club doing nothing while outside worldly agencies are making known our plight.
i found it puzzling that they flew out of russia like a bat out of hell as soon as the court rendered its decision leaving us high and dry.

The Watchtower has the flock convinced that if they are going through persecution then that is one of the signs that they are God's people, and are in the true religion. Also, another problem is they don't think for themselves. But could you just picture how mad a person would be once they do finally wake up, and realize the troubles they went through over a lie?

Fearmongering : The greatest ploy the Watchtower Society uses against its faithful members
by RULES & REGULATIONS in"shortly, within our twentieth century*, the "battle in the day of jehovah" will begin against the modern antitype of jerusalem, christendom.

fearmongering or scaremongering is the spreading of frightening and exaggerated rumors of impending danger or the habit or tactic of purposely and needlessly arousing public fear about an issue.

There are quite a few JW that would stay in even if they knew it was a lie, both my mother and mother-in-law said those exact words about themselves. All I can reply that it is their loss, not mine.

Do you think its stupid that JWs can't date regular people?
by nowawake14 inthat is absolutely the number one rule that i resent.. i feel sorry for some of those poor dependent minded jws who can't find anyone to marry.
all because they were only allowed to be with witnesses.
what a bunch of boloney!

When I was still in my mother insisted that I get married to either an elder or a regular pioneer. I think she said that because if I had it would have raised her status in the organization in her mind. Fellow JWs would tell me that whomever I married should love Jehovah more than me - Gag. Dating was a real pain in the arse as a witness. Needless to say I did none of the above. The guy I finally got married to hated the JW - I am brother prick attitude and he loved me more than you know who. That was 25 years ago.

I believe it is. I was watching a recent video on the John Cedars YouTube channel, and it made total sense why my father-in-law was in panic mode when I was sitting next to him a couple of months back. In the video, he showed where Tony Morris was actually saying if a JW and any dealings with a DF one, or in my case DA, they will be killed at Armageddon. Not once did he talk to me, or allowed me to talk, because the @$$ kept talking over me.
Here is the video if you want to see it.

Awake No. 2 2019 - Way To Destroy Your Childrens Hopes And Dreams Watchtower!
by pale.emperor innot that i spend much time on the cult's website, but i like to skim through their latest propaganda to make sure i'm up to date with their nuttiness.
(and when i say skim, i mean just that.
the wafer thin, dumbed down content can be read in like 2 mins flat).. i just had to share my thoughts on the above piece of trash.. no.

Sorry I couldn't get through even the summary of that op. All I will say about that is hogwash. They make me sick.
There is absolutely nothing encouraging a child to reach their dreams. Told my son at a young age if he wanted to go to college, work hard in school to make it happen. Had no idea how I was going to pay for it. Long story short, he worked his butt off reaching his dream of going to college, and as a result, he was able to gain a full scholarship for his complete time in college, with the stipulation that he keeps up his grades and do the class requirements the school puts down. He is wrapping up his third year and has been on the Dean's List every semester.
I am SOOO glad that I got my kids away from that cult before those jerks could mess them up.

Does anybody else still have an obsession about Saturday morning weather?
by Exelder ini am still enjoying the luxury of weekends to do whatever i want....but....out of habit i am still obsessed with looking at the weather for saturday mornings.
rain on a saturday morning was a very rare treat and we got the morning off, although as group leader, i still had to go to the group just in case somebody turned up.. does anybody else still watch the weekend forecast with interest?
(i am aware that this is probably a uk thing as we are obsessed with the weather ha ha).

The only time I might pay attention to Saturday (weekend) weather if my hubby has to work. He works quite a few Saturdays. Other than that, no.

When you were an active JW, did you ever have dealings with a pyramid scheme?
by Tameria2001 ini'm not sure why this memory popped up, and i was wondering if any others, when they were still active jw had dealings with a pyramid scheme involving other witnesses in the organization?
at the time it was 1993, and my husband and i were still newlyweds.
once in a while, we would attend a neighboring congregation because that was where he grew up, and some of his family was still attending there at the time.

At the time it was 1993, and my husband and I were still newlyweds. Once in a while, we would attend a neighboring congregation because that was where he grew up, and some of his family was still attending there at the time. One night before we left the meeting, my husband's cousin's husband pulled us aside and asked if we wanted to make some extra money and if we did, to show up at his home at a certain time on a different night. Money was extremely tight, and both my husband and I was thinking that he had some work for us. He owned a small company, and why we thought that. So on the night, we were told to show up, there were at least 4 other witnesses there as well. We soon discovered that we were not there for work or for a job, but a stupid pyramid scheme. He had all these charts and graphs explaining how we would make all this money, but we would have to pay him $250 to get started. Talking about irate, I was royally pissed. There was no work, no job, and a wasted trip to this person's home. At the time my husband was only bringing home about a $160 a week from his regular job. I did not know who most of my new husband's family was, but I took an instant disliking to this guy from that point onwards. Biggest slimeball ever in my book. Well, I shouldn't say the biggest slimeball, but one of many that I eventually came across in that organization.

Do You Take Any Special Vitamins or Meds That You Would Recommend?
by minimus inas we get older , we tend to feel the aches and pains or some tiredness like never before.. i have some friends who are in excellent condition and i’ve asked what their secret was.. some swear by cbd oil as a cure all for aches and localized pain.
greek yogurt is a natural food that can attack gut fat as does taking probiotics.
have you found anything that makes you more energized?

My husband and I take One A Day 50+. We both have seen some very positive results taking them.
