some of you by choice or by compelling reason will attend the book study to consider the creator book.
during the study you might want to ask a few questions.
here are some things to ponder and maybe you can formulate some questions to ask your conductor.. this book is dreadful in its use of quotations.

Greetings, High Priest!
I like your religion. Could it be referred to as humanism?

i used to post over at h2o a long time ago and thought i would drop in and say hello.
i am very glad that someone has taken the time to set up another place where ideas about jehovahs witnesses can be freely posted and discussed.
this type of place is a great public service for people who are just starting to see through the thick fog and who are just beginning to recognize cracks in that grandiose, self-serving, anything-but-ivory, tower that has the gall to refer to itself as the truth.
Hi Atticus, and welcome!
There's a bio of most of us in the "sex" forum, if you want to check it out, and post your own bio.

RHW,
Your brand of orv comes complete with a fly swatter, the crap that attracts the flies, mounting block(that should stay in the bedroom, deary), unpredictability, a very poor power-to-weight ratio, and an unwilligness to do exactly what you want it to do.

hi all.. just having my gripe for the day.. heh heh.
once upon a time, people had something called moral fibre.
they had ideals which they believed in.
ianao,
I cannot condemn the man for what he has done. Many people have jobs now that didn't before he came along. I don't think his immoral love-life was any of our business in the first place.
Clinton was a piss-poor example of a president, let alone a man. I don't care what he did or didn't do for the nation. Can a leader be a good example to those who look up to him if he's a sleazeball? His immoral love-life is made our business by his elected position.
His liberal flippancy further blurs the line between decent behavior and a bad example for the younger generation, and everyone for that matter.

Xandit,
I agree. Many are willing to wink at Clinton's behavior if they think he's doing a good job. A good lynching of our former prez might be a good thing.
Rcat,
Once upon a time, people had something called moral fibre. They had ideals which they believed in. They weren't afraid to stand up and take the heat for the sake of their friends, or possibly family. They weren't ashamed of saying to someone who acted like a lowlife, "Hey, your behavior is unacceptable and until you own up and change it, we want nothing to do with you".
I believe this "backbone" is absent in most of our society today. The people who stand for "moral fibre" are few and far between. We need to do a little moral and ethical "butt-kicking". Unfortunately, I thought the WTS was the way to go, but they turned out just as corrupt as many Clintonesque politicians.

my kid brother, tom, was born to witness parents.
he was something of a surprise package and my parents were delighted.

Xandit,
I believe that a public ministry is a necessity for Christians but that it must be in balance with all other aspects of the Christian personality, etc.
Do you participate in a "public ministry", and if so, how? And depending on one's personality, does that mean one doesn't have to participate in the public ministry, and if so, what kind of personalities would be exempt?

i have a little theory buzzing around in the back of my mind.
it was triggered by trevors comments re the low self esteem that is endured by many jw youngsters.. i`m wondering if the singing of kingdom songs can actually make you feel depressed and worthless.
i know it might seem a strange idea at first, but see if my reasoning doesn`t make at least some sense.. i frequently see the tv ad for linguaphone, the language learning course, that uses your repetition of foreign language phrases spoken along with a cassette recording.
Hi Englishman.
What a great theory! Myself, I don't think that I was affected. However, I remember that I thought most of the songs sucked. Especially "We Are Jehovah's Witnesses". That song reminds me of a childish tune one would sing on the playground at school. There were a few songs I liked, but my memory of most was that they were gruesome songs making fun of the death of the world.
Remember the song with the line; "kiss the son lest he be angry, and you perish in his way", or something like that. It had this ominous cruel tune that went with it. I used to think, "what a sick song!"

it's true!
many of you here who scoff at the battle of armaggedon being a reality are in for a big surprise.
it will be a fear inspiring day in which there will only be one side that will survive.
