Vivianne,
I'm not lost. How can I find myself?
Low dosages of Adderall.

i haven't seen this mentioned yet.
last year in the uk, shortly after the money grab that everyone had, we had a video and letter (both probably still available from atlantis) appealing for money for the new bethel and slips were handed out etc.
this means that most uk congregations are sending a regular donation specifically for the chelmsford build.
Or am I too cynical?
Nope. Seems to be a good way to solve the cash flow problem while still saving face.
what if by inheritance, winning the lottery or any other way, you suddenly got your hands on $150m after tax.
you maybe would spend a third of this giving your extended family financial security for life.
you maybe would buy a boat and a few investment properties.
Firstly I would never win the lottery or get such an inheritance, so I would assume I got the money by some other means like contributions or grants. So the first $50 million I would blow on things like sports cars and Vegas and hookers and coke. So that leaves $100 million. Then I'd do the following:
1. Make THE best JW documentary series ever. Budget $10 million. (I would embezzle $40 million and write it off as part of the series budget.)
Ok so that leaves $50 million to finish the job.
2. I would start a lobby group to have US congressional hearings on the child abuse policies of Jehovah's Witnesses. As a secondary goal of the lobby group I would push for the annual public disclosure of all Church group financial statements within the US. I would use $40 million for the job and embezzle another $10 million.
3. With the second $50 million I stole I would buy Beth Sarim, booz it up and have steak and shrimp bbq's every day. So everybody would be happy, including me.
okay, okay, okay - i know we're not supposed to jump to conclusions.
but the odds this is a "naturally occurring event" are pretty low.
and it's just the sort of megastructure we would expect an advanced alien civilization (type 2) to build.

I'm getting the popcorn and soda ready.
Thank you Glenster.
hey!
i've been hanging around her for a while.
this is the third attempt at my 'hello'.
Hello Miss Worldly,
Welcome and let me be the first to offer you a free home Bible study.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3270999/has-biblical-city-sodom-monstrous-site-jordan-matches-descriptions-area-destroyed-god.html
I think its great that this is the possible location of Sodom.
I have always thought that there is usually a kernel of truth in ancient tales (See Schliemann and Troy)
As many commented here this could have been an epic cataclysmic event which was later explained through a moral cautionary tale.
Now the question is: Where is the twin city Gomorrah?
I hope they find it soon...
thank you all for your sincere encouragement during these last few weeks.
finally, she is at peace.
i was with her , holding her hand when she died.
hi all, any thoughts on the ridley scott film exodus :gods and kings my people?
generally, its more or less as i would envision it.. love the representation of gods spirit/angel as a child of ?10 - great age, they have not lost their innocence but are aware of the dark side of life, question everything are bitingly honest in their assesments and you can often have surprisingly adult conversations with them.
of course in all this they are often very very funny(i may be biased as my kids are this age!!!).
Ridley Scott's Exodus - meh... so so...too much creative license. Its an interesting story but it contorts it too much. The movie doesn't feel like the Biblical Exodus.
The kid as God/Angel/Whatever was pretty well done. Interesting take.
Simon, I like Bible films as well:
My top five are:
The Passion of the Christ (Although the Film made Mel Gibson a Jew hating bigot)
Quo Vadis (1951)
The Ten commandments (Charlton Heston as Moses was pretty cool)
Jesus of Nazareth (1977 Mini series)
Year One (Its silly and stupid I know but the scenes with Adam (Harold Ramis), Cain, Abel, Seth and the Witch Doctor (Bill Hader) are pretty funny)
so now that most of us have come to a semi truthful understanding that the witnesses are wrong about evolutionist, there is a certain question that i have always had.
now if you were to ask any jw, they'd recite a complete fallacy from scientist regarding this.
but what is you guys input of this.
One_day,
If religion has disappointed you, science will too. Unfortunately it has promoted itself as honest disciplined searchers of truth.

Let me illustrate the difference between Science and Religion:
