I'm not getting mine either. I asked Simon about it in another thread:

The problem should be fixed but I'm still not getting anything.
i used to love getting my jw.com notifications that someone replied to my post!
it was the only way i could keep up the different coversations.... has anyone else noticed they've stopped?
i dont get them anymore.

things are gettn interestinger and interestinger every day.
on the international scene any number of scenarios can serve as triggers to set off wwiii, or the tribulation, whatever you may prefer to call it.
the next cross-border atrocity by rogue militants could easily detonate a conflagration between nuclear-poised india and pakistan.
YK,
I don't even read your posts or responses, excepting this one.
Do you even realize how foolish this statement is?
i recieved 3 emails from this person named, tord unevik,
all three emails say the same thing.
i send you this file in order to have your advice see you later.
Thank Amazing for the tip! I'll check into that software... $60 is nothing... I was thinking Anti-Virus software was much more expensive, glad to know it's not! And Amazing, I'm glad to see you posting, hope you are taking care of yourself and not over -extending yourself. ;)
Lisa,
Lars Nilsson sounds soooo familiar!! I don't want to spread rumors but I'm almost 100% he is a JW I knew back in my old "getting to know JWs on the internet" days. Dang! I can't post the full story on this guy for fear of giving away my identity but I will say if it's the same guy he is wacked!!
Reborn,
If someone had a question seeking advice, they would ask it in the text of their message, and not in an attachment.Yeeeaaahhh, you think someone that would want to send you a virus would be a little smarter about it but I AM greatful this one was not.
yep,one year ago tonight i first posted here.i had lurked for a few weeks, never intending to post, but a particular thread hit so close to home for me,that i felt like i had to voice my opinion.of course,i was promptly slammed as being a troll, but i was stubborn enough to hang around.here i am still hanging,a whole year later.
i've maybe learned more in this past year than in the ten before it all put together.i've learned a whole lot about myself-about who i am,and why.i've learned about the organization that shaped my life and my family.originally i was shocked by alot of what i read here, and wasn't sure whether or not to believe it all.but looking back, knowing what i do now explains an awful lot of things.
i've learned lot's about people, too.like many who were raised jw,i led a very sheltered childhood(even more so living in the country, going to a small school).i'm still not sure if this is a real cross section of life, but i think it's pretty close.i'm happy to say that i've made lot's of friends here, some very good ones.though i've had my share of disagreements,i don't consider anyone here an enemy.
((((Cowboy))))
I'm glad you stuck around, otherwise I would have never gotten to chat with ya! [ :X]
Happy anniversary!

Thanks All!
It's amazing how us so called "apostates" are the ones that get attacked and have to be so careful with this kind of thing. When I was a JW, I was all over the place on the Internet and never had these problems.
I can't believe I have to watch my back against the supposed "loving Christians"... I mean I can believe it but it still stupefies me...
Damn shame I have to lock my email now.... Eeerrr... I don't have virus software on this home computer... Next on my shopping list.... it's a shame... Damn shame I say!
LizardSnot, NO I did not.

But he/she includes a different attachment in each one.
Attachement #1,2 and 3 : Ledningsgruppmteden16dec.doc.com, SvenskInredning-hasseludden.doc.bat, Tjnstemannalner1998.doc.bat
I was leery of opening the attachments and since I don't know who this is, I deleted the emails.
Has anyone else recieved email from this person?

i just recently read a post on another board where a person claiming to be a witness claims that she called the society as was informed by them that it was all right to have one's own blood stored for future use.
anyone else heard of this?
am i just slipping behind the times or could she be mistaken about the matter?
Sorry all,
I tried to scan the letter but since it was printed so tiny in the pages of the book, it scanned badly. I will have to take it in to the office and blow it up on the copier then scan it, so it will take me a few more days.
i just posted this on teejay's thread, but in case some didn't read that thread i will repost it here, the enhanced version, because i believe it deserves its own thread.. recently, my parents visited with me.
(the great apostate, can you believe it?).
technically, they were here to visit my kids and husband, as i am df'd [8>].
(((LISA)))
Everytime I read someone's shared experience I become more and more resentful toward the GB and the JW religion.
I'm so sorry Lisa....

They are not allowing you to store your blood for a whole blood tranfusion but only the fractions. Which is entirely stupid considering they are not going to store your blood for that sole purpose.
Although I'm not sure it's the same one Hawkaw is talking about, there is a similar letter printed in Greg Stafford's new book, "Three dissertations on the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses".
If I can scan it this weekend I will post it here.
many hundreds of people read this site who are not subscribed, and i would suspect that the vast majority are jw's looking for answers to an internal turmoil that they may be living with.. the information posted on this board does get read and then passed among many congregations of jw's.
this information is a powerful force and is a wonderful thing for those who are seeking to be informed, and a not so wonderful thing to those in brooklyn who are seeking to harness the boundaries of knowledge.. given this scenario, and how much credibility can be lost by xjw's who perpetuate gossip and innuendo, can we check our sources and facts very carefully before we post information to this board.
there is no particular nobility in being first with news about some aspect of wts life.
Ok I'm confused.
I think Hillary's point was to not put all JWs in the same pile and she's right, there are rotten apples in that religion just like their are in humanity in general but we shouldn't qualify ALL of them as rotten.
They are just as much victims as we are and it's important to remember that.
We also need to be careful about spreading rumors or gossip, always keeping others people's feelings in mind.
Here is where I am confused: What should be considered as heresay or mud-slinging? Hillary specifically said, I quote:
From my own standpoint I frequently reach a ‘crisis of patience’ when I read the mud-slinging that is leveled against individual JW’s, elders, CO’s etc. You know the kind of thing. ‘I knew an elder who ripped me off in a used car sale" etc. etc.I cannot help feeling that this is missing a valuable point entirely. When I want to relate an experience many things have to be left out in order to protect my identity (for now anyway). When I want to share a personal experience I will need to be less specific and it will most likely sound this way "I knew an JW or elder that was a thief or whatever" with a few other details to the story but certainly not specifics such as congregation name etc. So am I to be labeled a mud slinger because of that? I am relating my story as best I can under the circumstances and it is the truth, whomever doesn't want to believe me has that prerogative but why should it be labeled as mud slinging or heresay?
