Convention Apostatizing Brings Gestapo Response
by outnfree inmy flyers merely said: if as a jehovahs witness, a member of your family has been molested information is available for further information see: www.silentlambs.org or call 1-877-wtabuse.. nothing overtly inflammatory, actually more like a public service announcement.. i guess thats what most of the local organizers and friends thought in my neck of the, woods for the first two days of the district convention!
but once the 'friends' realized that the website i was promoting with my flyers and moving car billboard was not an approved wt site, the powers that be got ... well ... pissed is the word!.
nobody bothered me on friday as i went smiling about my posting flyers on the light and utility poles on the routes to/from the convention site.

I agree while it indeed was exciting- i hate to say but if falls right into the trap that the Boys in Writing have been setting for years. the typical jw has it ingrained in thier brains as to how to react to stunts like this- if anything it only strenghten them for it confirms what they have been told for years- they will beat thier former bro, etc
the worst thing a jw can deal with is a "nice Apostate" for they have been told that such ones are foaming at the mouth-
I think both kinds of apostates are needed. The nice ones are too quite for the public. And the 'in your face' ones make the nice ones look that much less an apostate. If you were to catch those events on film it would have been so helpful in showing what the borg is all about.

Jesus and Buddha
by Bhagavad inthere's a possibility that jesus went to india and was influenced by hinduism/buddhism during the "lost years" between his ages of 12 and 30. see the site http://www.atributetohinduism.com/hinduisms_influence.htm.
fascinating info to review.
if it's worth considering, then we might ask: .

So the 3 Magi may not have been as evil or as duped
Magi are Zoroastrian priests. The story of the there Magi bringing frankincense and mirrth quite possibly could have been Matthew trying to make Jesus out to be the second coming of Zoroaster. Zoroaster before even the time of moses had commanded his priests to watch for a sign in the starts, some constellation or something that would guide them to his return, and to bring frank incense and mirth. Or so the story goes according to some baha'i a studies with shortly. The funny thing is though that king Cyrus was most probably a Zoroastrian. Cyrus was called a messiah and an anointed king by god in the bible. The baha'i believe that as Jesus was from the line of David so Baha'u'llah was from the line of Cyrus. What you wrote above made me think of my studies with baha'i because they consider the buddha to be a manifestation of god just as Jesus was. They would explain what you have wrote by saying that they were the same person.
However myself i wouldn't get so caught up in this. The people who wrote the sayings of the buddha were not his closest disciples. I think that Buddhism is completely bastardized from what the buddha taught. From what i have read i think that the buddha was just a happy cynic. No god no everlasting life, no devine savior. Just this life of self-inflicted agitation that can be lessened by calming the mind and losing your attachments then the external peace of Nirvana(death). As far as i can tell the difference between "nirvana" and "nonexistence" is purely a semantic one.

I started reading though some posts, starting with Sabine's about that poor young man who hung himself. I got so angry! Then i moved on to Sentinel's post about how she was treated in her JC meeting. I had heard stories like that before, and i can only guess how rampid this is throughoutut the organization. Then onto the one about Lawrence Hughes daughter. All i could feel was furious anger at these ignorant heartless people. I started telling my friend about some of what i was reading, we were interrupted and began talking a bout some movie then she invited me over and by this time the posts had moved to the back of my mind as i thought about how i would be great to go over there and watch a movie. Then as a hung up and looked over at my computer...i just started sobbing. For few mins i just sat here and cried. I didn't know these people, but my heart still aches for them. How can the governing body live through this!?
Anyhow...it got me thinking. I have only my practicum hours left to become a registered professional counselor. I didn't really want to finish it because of my prospects due to my age and the competitive market here. But really i would love to volunteer my time as some sort of exit counselor and activist to try to stop these things from continuing, and broadening people's awareness. So i am wondering if any of you have some advice or know any counselors that specialized in this. I have to go now and can't wait to hear from ya.

Ps. Sorry i don't know how to make the letters black again.

Surviving the Hearing to DF Me.
by Sentinel ini must say that reading all these posts have really brought back so many memories for me.
i had a terrible experience at my hearing, which i believe now, really bordered on sexual abuse of the mental kind.. our congregation was small.
this was difficult for the few young people that attended.

SUICIDE IN KH PARKING LOT
by Sabine inlast saturday, a former ministerial servant and pioneer committed suicide in the woodinville washington kingdom hall parking lot.
he was disfellowshipped several years ago, and according to the old sister that related the story to me today, he was depressed because no one would talk to him.
i don't know how i kept calm when she explained to me that "we couldn't talk to him...he was disfellowshipped.".

tha birds and tha beez - ADULT content
by bonovox inok, lets see if i can do this without getting carried away...lol.... allow me to pose a hypothetical situation:.
you have known john and jane for a couple of years now, and so far they appear to be the perfectly happy 'normal' married couple.
they seem totally into each other and when in public usually can't keep their hands off each other.

Marriage is about trust. Cheating is breaking that trust.
As for STDs i would strongly discourage running around with your partner srew'n everything that fit.
Puff why would swinging be anymore dangerous then being single? I wouldn't want to swing with people i didn't already know well. Plus if me or my partner wanted to swing ALL the time i would start to think that there was something wrong. Personally i think it would be great to have a couple friends to swing with once'n a while..........................Ok i'm back now what was i saying?

I thought i would start a thread for share'n stuff.
I am looking for someone who can upload a copy of the latest Watchtower CD.
This is what i have to share:
Watchtower reprints 1879-1939,
Rutherford's Rainbow 1921-1941
The complete works of Pastor Russell
Rutherford's House-to-House Phonograph records
I have a Jim Moon+John Wirtanan interview
And an interview with Bill Bowen
Look what i found:
As for your position on the cross... There is some evidence that there was a crossbeam, I will admit to that. However, the cross you use in your worship is of pagan origins. The crossbeam was most likely at the top of the stake/ pole. It was lowered to its final form to no doubt appeal to the pagan converts. Interesting There are a couple of JWs on that Bible debate MSN community. Click the name and it'll bring you to it. I come across good stuff like this once n a wile i'll keep you posted if you'd like to jump in on some debates. I post some more later but i gotta get to work.
