What is the current pulse in the organization with the reductions?
by SouthCentral ini have not seen jehovah’s witnesses in my neighborhood for several years now.
it appears that the cart witnessing has taken over.
congregations are being consolidated and witnesses are being forced to travel a greater distance than before.the burdens/privileges of elders seem to be ever increasing!.

I remember when I did the cart once, we put it against the wall of a viaduct, en route to one of the least busy train stations in the whole area. It was pouring with rain so we just sat in the car while over the course of 2 hours about 3 or 4 people ran straight past the cart and into the train station. Did have a really nice steak and ale pie though so not a total waste.

Flip flop reposting for the newer members
by Splash ini posted this a while ago and i was asked for it again recently, which made me think of putting it back here for any newer members.. please find a link that is active for one month which lists the jw teachings which have been changed back and forth.. flip flop pdf.
it was this alone which made me realise the wt are clueless, imperfect guessers at doctrine, so why do they deserve to be followed.
(spoiler: they don't deserve to be.

Works for me! Thank you. Did have a good old laugh about the "Questions from our readers" section that says, is it wrong for a pet to receive a blood transfusion... And it is! 😂.

False Predictions
by Sea Breeze inwhat you will not be told at the door bythe jehovah’s witnesses.
the jehovah’s witness (or watchtower bible and tract society) have made the followingpredictions which appear in their own literature:.
1. that jesus would return by 1874. when jesus failed to appear, the witnesses claimedthat it was an unseen, spiritual return.

I'm not sure they are wanting to blame the WTBS. The only person responsible *FOR THE ABUSE* is the abuser. And they will be dealt with as per the norm. However on many occasions the victims and the families will go to the elders before the authorities. Similar to the way a child may go to a teacher before the police or parents. This then puts the duty of care on the elders to report this as required by law. If they don't report it to the proper authorities then this would constitute negligence.
Just my thoughts.

Should I do this?
by CivilServant79 inhi there this is my first post as i’m not sure what to do.
my family (both sides) are well known in our circuit and very dedicated to the truth.
but we’re relatively normal people and i love them all so much.

At least then you'll have plausible deniability. Feel like Walter White saying that....

I agree with fastJehu.
My uncle who is also a fader, told me the best way to go about it for me was to play the "I have lots of personal issues" card. and to iterate that I don't want to talk about them with anyone other than my grandfather who is an elder or my mum or dad who used to be an elder. May be of help if you get approached by other elders.
Hope you can figure something out

Ignorance of Watchtower doctrine among young JW's
by nicolaou ini've been having a conversation with a young jw on twitter and have, once again, come up against beliefs that do not match up with official watchtower doctrine.
if you like you can read the full thread here (you'll need to click on some comments to open it all up).. anyway the upshot is that this jw, and many like her, believe that only truly wicked people will be killed at armageddon - not innocent babies and children or anyone who "didn't know better" perhaps because they didn't get a witness.
it's as though they cannot accept the obvious injustice of jehovah's morality.. this jw teenager believes that all these non-jw's who survive armageddon will get their chance to prove their loyalty during the 1000 year reign of christ - again, not a watchtower teaching.. i don't really have a question to ask, this is just an observation.

Violation of the data protection law in Spain. GDPR
by Blade R inaccording to the resolution of the data protection agency, the information was used for other purposes than those authorized.. the data protection agency has imposed a fine of 10,000 euros to jehovah's witnesses for collecting data from doctors and patients without prior authorization.. the religious institution has a hospital liaison committee (ceh) in each province that visits the hospitals to find out the degree of collaboration of the medical staff according to the beliefs of the jehovah's witnesses, "which is only realization of surgeries without transfusions ", is included in the resolution of the agency to which medical drafting has had access.. when compiling these data, as demonstrated by the resolution, the members of the committees overreached their duties, gathering information without requesting the relevant permission stipulated by law.
the jehovah's witnesses have filed an appeal after the ruling but it has not been accepted.. without consent.
in the document, the existence of data that have been "stored and conserved, and imply the processing of data without consent that is imputed, estimating that they are part of a file, are related as rights basics".

Very interesting read... Can't really argue with that!
Just a thought, wouldn't collecting the numbers of houses that they didn't find in on the field ministry work count as a violation of GDPR? Because they are noting down information that could identify an individual (e.g. number 16 isnt in on Tuesday morning at 10am) without the prior consent of the individual?
Not an expert in this so I'm not sure!

Electronic Frontier Foundation v Watch Tower Society
by Corney in[disclaimer: the headline is slightly misleading since the eff itself doesn't participate in the case, so read more below].
it's not a secret that during the last two years watchtower obtained nearly 40 dmca subpoenas requiring google, facebook, instagram, twitter, soundcloud, scribd, reddit and other isps to provide personal information of users that allegedly infringed the society's copyright.. since subpoena proceeding is ex parte, almost all the requests were granted.. but one of the affected users contacted, on advice of youtube's legal team, the electronic frontier foundation (eff), and the foundation found a law firm ready to represent him pro bono, namely garvey schubert barer:.
youtube's legal department emailed the user on or about july 10, 2018, five days before the subpoena's return date, stating that it would comply with the subpoena unless it received a file-stamped motion to quash "or other type of formal objection before july 20, 2018.
