Hi Jon , I`m fro the SE coast of Victoria ,I got the "struth" in Melbourne when i was about 20 YO .
Yet I also lived in a Northern suburb of Brisbane for 37 years before moving down here.
I knew a couple who moved to perth to serve where the need was great in the 70`s I think R S was his initials ?
I have been free of the cult since ` 93

I have to admire your faith and conviction Sea Breeze , but I just can`t beleive because someone is so sure of their faith and conviction ,then it must be true.
Because life has taught us that time and time again faith and beleif is no sure guarantee that what you beleive is true.

Hasn`t that been the loophole the JW religion has used in the past and gotten away with it ?

I agree ,and these types of articles from the media in my opinion should be copied and pasted on social media to as wide an audience as can be reached because it`s not just JW children who are at risk from these predators but it could also include children from the wider community.
The wider general public should be informed and aware of the potential dangers that the Jehovah`s Witnesses religion could have on their children because of the policy`s they have of not reporting Known cases by members in their own religion to the appropiate authorities.

a simple " me" if you dont want to say more--or a short explanation about who is shunning you and how long has this been going on.. i'll set the ball rolling: my daughter--her husband and children; my younger son --no contact from them for 40 years...because i left their religion.. (edit--i just noticed the typo in the header--if should be of ).
My niece has shunned her mother and sisters and my family for many years now because we left the religion.

I had never heard of it defore.
a lot of false teaching darkens our doors today, especially with watchtower teachings, calvinism and lordship salvation.. latest video below explores the verse john 3:16 and shows forth the truths which christ preached to nicodemus.
the jws also spread fear amongst their followers stating that if the leave the org, then jehovah will strike them down at armageddon.

The American Government ordered the dropping of an Atomic Bomb on two civillian cities ,Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
And not on the armed forces of Japan who were responsible for carrying out the war.

"the prophecy of the bible, fully supported by the physical facts in fulfillment thereof, shows that the second coming of christ dates from the fall of the year 1914.
I am thankful for that false prophecy because it got me THINKING!
