As if the r&f JW can distinguish between an inactive JW and an apostate ?
The trouble is if they send you a letter they wont give you their name and address or contact number all they do is refer you to either the local KH or JW.Org ?

2021 governing body update #10. .
so a quick little note about a few things that i recently learned.
if you ever had the yellow book of bible stories, there was the story of enoch, also repeated in other watchtower publications, about the angels fathering giants and being a menace on earth.
now if you look at the nicean bible, which is the wtbts selection of the bible, it mentions enoch twice and only has a very brief passage about nephilim and ben elohim.
Good post , I often wondered why the books that were mentioned in the Bible were not included in the Bible canon,?
Such as the book of Enoch , Jubilees , Jasper , Jasher , Maccabee 1& 2 ,The testament of Noah .?
Any that I have missed ?
If the Bible was the word of God and these books were referenced in the Bible ,in my mind there is no reason to exclude them.
I do remember reading somewhere in WT literature that they recommended reading Maccabees to get a good feel of jewish history.
Dead Sea Scrolls indicates those books were very much in circulation amongst Christians ca 100BC and have to date existed amongst Ethiopian Churches (one of the earliest churches still in existence)
That`s the other thing that surprised me ,the WTB&TS could have differed itself from Christendom by including some or all of these books to be more in-line with first Century Christians. ?
i'm going to take a wild stab in the dark here and guess that the watchtower is having a wonderful time over the whole ukraine situation.
is the whole " end of times " thing being pushed again to bring dissidents back into line .
they must be seeing as a gift from above .
LUHE , Don`t forget the end of the Century was also used to usher in Armageddon and then JC 1000 year reign was supposed to start.
How many failed prophecies of the Bible or adherents of the Bible as so called Gods infallible inspired word need to come and go without fulfillment before they realize that its all a figment of mans imagination ?
The Bibles Big A will never come, period! The scriptures were written by early SF writers

The United Nations declared 1986 as the" International Year of Peace and Security"
Stil no Armageddon.
should we refer watchtower as to a online religion now?
i mean we could discuss if they ever return to kingdom hall's in the future.
if most of them haven't been sold.
Maybe they will go to an on-line religion with their own TV station,it can be profitable for them if they do it right .
Look at Jimmy Swaggert Ministeries and his fanily business , or Joyce Meyer Ministeries just to name a couple .
They are two very successful TV Evangelistic shows that still flourish today in many country's .
this is an interesting and intriguing new law (or, it will be if enacted in its present form).. quote: "the proposed new religious discrimination act is intended to prevent a person from being discriminated against on the basis of their religion.".
fair enough, but to get it through the house of representatives last night, the government accepted some changes.. the first draft (discussed last night) had a clause that may have impacted the rights of some gay and/or trans-sexual students at religious schools by allowing a religious school to expel such a student.
last night the government was forced to accept changes that removed that possibility.
FTS
I understood the issue concerned children, enrolled in a religious school from an early age, reaching (puberty??) and finding they were same sex attracted or transexual and doing or saying something that would lead the school authorities to believe they were gay or transexual, who then expelled them from the school.
I concur with what you are saying ,FTS and I think rather than a government getting involved in this issue ,the religious institution in question should be able to have a frank discussion with the child and his/her parents and come to an amiable solution for both sides pointing out their core values.
Personally I have no issue with gay / transexual people .I have a gay BIL and nephew who are both gay and we get along just fine no problems ,I enjoy their company just as much as I enjoy anybody else`s company.
Just to set the record straight.

In my mind if that law had passed,it would have discriminated against any organization Christian or otherwise to enforce rules for entry into their establishments.
It would have set a bad precedent that any organization Christian or otherwise had rules of entry and some smart ass would object to.
I`m not religious now by any means but I agree that a Christian institution has the right to say who can and who cannot be a part of it.
There are plenty of other options they can choose to go to rather than force your will on an institution to change its policy. IMHO
What`s your view? I`d be interested ?
i was wondering if anyone is aware of the jw’s in general being involved financially and/or as volunteers in charity organizations?
i was a born in jw for 56 years and left in 2016. as far as i remember there was never any encouragement to help in the community in any way.
including soup kitchens, tutoring at schools, united way, etc.
I have been in 7 congregations in my 32 years as an active JW in 3 States of Australia and I have never seen or heard from the Society as they used to be called, any assistance monetary or otherwise from the JW religion to any needy person ,widow or orphans that needed help or assistance .
The onus was always put back on the individual members of the congregations to provide any assistance needed.
Recently, when many old time workers / members were laid off ,they were just sent back to neighboring congregations who were to provide for their needs, with no assistance from the GB/JW religion.
