i am appalled but at the same time ,i can very well remember when i used to be doing the same thing when pimi thinking i am really helping people , giving them a positive hope , something to look forward to n all.. amazing how thoughts and mind sets once opened changes so drastically!.

Aaahh Zing ,I miss the sunshine Coast of QLD ,Have very fond memories of the place even while I was an active JW.

Sorry, nostalgia got the better of me .Yes the Jdubs still have to get their time in so letter writing is a good way to go .

You can spend a couple of hours just writing a few letters with coffee breaks inbetween and you dont even have to leave your house ,except to post the letters .

Then again most witnesses I know wouldn`t spend the money on stamps so most likely it was a walk around the neighbourhood just letter dropping.

Hi ,my friend ,you may have found yourself on the other side of the coin to use that phrase .

This forum ,while welcoming active JW`s who are genuine in questioning ,or are troubled or even confused about some of their beliefs ,this forum is primarily of those who have exited the JW religion and are hell bent on exposing the fraudulent religion for what it is.

But by all means stick around ,i`m sure you will be amazed by what you learn here from ex JW`s that make up the bulk of this site .

In the 1960`s my mentor/tutor in the religion told me that Buzzards / Raptorial birds were laying more than the normal /usual eggs than they normally did ,and it was a sign that the GT and Armageddon was close at hand .

The birds picking the bones clean of those slain all over the earth.

Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread

this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

If you can believe the figures and I have no reason to doubt John Hopkins Univ. America now has more infected people than China .? That is of course if the Chinese figures can be believed .

However the American figures are way over what they should be given the time frame we had about this virus coming from China.

Could it be that America has been slow to appreciate the severity of the disease and not taken enough adequate steps to stem the tide of infection ?

I am amazed that Russia seems to have escaped the virus the way they have with less than 900 infected people so far .

If I may compare Australia and New Zealand`s response to the virus I think NZ has been ahead of Australia by coming out and laying down the law straight away whereas Australia has been coming out in dribs and drabs as to what restrictions are being applied .

Just my observations about Covid-19

- economy with all the stand still corporations, people without work and mass injections of support money?.

- politics with the end of globalisation, closed borders and new geopolitic friends (italy / china russia), lack of support and working together in eu and local politics, did the current politician the right thing?.

My son and I were just saying that the other day ,and if I may suggest, it will carry on over from December to Jan,Feb Mar,Apr,May and June ,before the baby boom is over .

The sad thing is there may be a lot more little jw`s in the world

Warning!

no...not a warning from me, rather that is the subject of the "local needs" that i heard was presented via zoom tonight.. beware of apps!

they harped on the idea that only apps approved by the governing body should ever be downloaded or used by jdubs.

they said if they had not been featured in the litterature or specifically recommended by the governing body then jdubs should heed the warning and avoid them.. i guess they are, as we all suspected, very afraid of what the dubs will find out now that they have to use only electronic devices for their "food"..

How in the world can the average JW especially the elderly or even the not so elderly but someone who is not up to scratch with this technology determine what is an approved App by the Society ?

Hopefully many more JW`s will stumble on sites that they can`t , because of curiosity close down and want to hear more of what is being said and eventually leave ,finally realizing they have been misled all of these years.

My D.I.L. Works in a Pharmacy and gets abused by stupid people.

hi friends ,my d.i.l.

works in a pharmacy and looks after people who needs prescriptions and advice on health care products that patrons need .and the sad thing is with this covid19 virus seems to be bringing out the worst in too many people as more often than not she is getting abused and challenged for wearing what she and her workmates have to keep themselves and the public free from this virus.. there are notices all around the store telling people that they are out of certain items and cant supply them such as hand sanitizers ,face masks ,gloves ,personal disinfectant wipes etc,etc.and she gets abused because she has gloves on ,has a face mask on ,and has hand sanitizer that she can use and the customer says something like you have it why cant i get it ?.

in an abusive and challenging way and its getting her down.. she is getting tired of trying to tell the public she is their to help them and if she and her co-workers get sick the shop will close and nobody will get the help they need.. also they don`t respect the distance they need to keep from each other they lean over the counter with there hands touching everything trying to get in her face complaining.not only do they not appreciate they should only be in the store to get what they need and then get out ,they just treat it like any other normal day and browse around the shop picking up any and everything then putting it down again and buying items that are not necessary for their day to day existence .. i feel very sorry for her and all of the people doing like minded work , who are suffering under the same stress needlessly by unthinking uncaring people .. i just want to add she is a beautiful young lady who has a lovely caring personality and its a shame that she and others in her profession are subjected to this form of abuse.. note : this is happening in regional victoria australia.
