  WT Using Symbolic Interpretation to Twist Scriptures

  does anyone know of examples where the watchtower used symbolic interpretation to twist the plain meaning of scripture?the only one that comes to my mind right now is in rev.

  "then i heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of israel".. .

  here, the wt would have us believe that the number of those sealed are literally 144k; but supposedly "israel" symbolically represents anointed jw's.

  What about the seven trumpets of Revelation that were applied to the Conventions that started in cedar Point ohio ? in 1922 ?

  If i remember correctly ? was stated in the revelation book we studied mid week.I found that a bit hard to swallow.

  After all these thousands of years humans have been subjected to Satan being the God of this system of things, with all of the evil that has gone on , and apparently the very short time Adam and Eve lived in a paradise earth , ,who really is the Almighty God ?

  Satan or Jehovah ?

  I have to give some credit to Splane for being able to use the Bible to play any old tune you wish to play.

  so in the latest leaked video, splane goes on this crazy delusional rant about how faithful witnesses should never research their faith.. he criticizes the worldly court system and says they are not fair toward witnesses and the organization.

  he says the court system is rigged and witnesses who get convicted, (implied child sex abusers) are innocent.

  he is literally trying to justify child molesters and elders who cover them, as good people in "god's eyes" even though "human authorities" may judge them and put them in jail.

  Still no video or link about what Splane said ? And why did the OP say he thought that their were more apostates working on the inside ?

  OK , I guess this answers that

  ,No matter how hard they try, there is always someone in the inside leaking videos or secret letters.

  I think this videro was very good for ex JW`s to see but not for non JW`s as an expose .

  It was far too long for that it needs to be cut down to about 45 min.and hone in more on the negatives of the religion.

  Just my opinion.

  How Do you Count How Long You Were In "The Truth?"

  if you were born in, do you count from the year of your birth, when you gave your first presentation at the door, (i was five),.

  when you became an unbaptized publisher, (i was about 12), or when you dedicated your life to god,(org) and took the plunge?

  what could you have done with all of this time?

  I became interested in 1959 ,was baptised in 1960 and left in 1993 ,so i usually claim I was a JW for 32 years give or take a year or two.

  I vaguely rember something about an Elders wife who was a friend of ours saying something about how Jehovah has blessed them in selling their house ,and my wife just responded to her "well its good for some isnt it "

  Since You Have Left The Religion Are You Happier?

  i realize that some activist exjws really don’t seem to be happy in life.

  they finally got away from the organization and yet seem still negatively connected to it.

  some exjws are always upset because of what the “truth “ did to their lives, which is understandable.

  When i was a JW I was happy beleiving what i did.Why wouldn`t one be .? looking forward to such a wonderful prospect in life ?

  Coming to grips about TTATT I am happy I am no longer deluded into beleiving such a pie in the sky fantasy.

  And I am enjoying living a life free from fear of a God whose going to zap me because I dont meet up with the GB restrictions in life that they would weigh me down with.

  The Last Day

  [7-1-98 wt – martha said of her dead brother, lazarus: “i know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” (john 11:24) how did she know that?

  …she might even have learned this from jesus himself.

  (john 6:39 - this is the will of him who sent me, that i should lose none out of all those whom he has given me, but that i should resurrect them on the last day.

  What about overlapping last days ? surely that`s the next new light .

  Humans die because of sin right ?

  The Bible in Romans 6:23 states " For the wages sin pays is death "

  Lazarus died and was freed from the Adamic/ Eve sin .

  So when Lazarus was resurrected to life ,what scriptual reason is there for him to have died again ? Since he was now free from the Adamic/Eve sin ?
