  I can agree with Biblical ignorance being a factor.And beleiving from outside influencers that the Bible is the word of God.

  Voting and JWs

  with the upcoming elections, the campaigns and political rhetoric are ramping up.

  (ramping up is an understatement lol) .

  i remember a few years ago, gb member brother herd mentioned during one of his talks that several witnesses were either reproved or disfellowshipped for voting for a certain presidential candidate who won...twice.

  This was a thing that came up early in my conversion days actually twice .One was in a new hall we had obtained a vote was taken in the congregation as to what colour the drapes were to be made .

  In the other example I should have learned an important message.:

  In the Theocratic/Ministry School meetings that were held on a thursday night a vote was taken as to what time the sunday meeting was to be held in the morning or the Afternoon.Which I attended and voted for the morning.In my mind the rest of the sunday was for you to do whatever you wanted to do .

  Apparently everybody else thought much the same .

  The next week this vote came up again ? I thought why are we having another vote on this same issue ?

  Again apparently the vote went the same way .The next week i missed going to the MS/SM ,and apparently the Elders got the vote they wanted to have the meetings on a sunday afternoon so that JW`s could go out witnessing on the Sunday morning .

  And there was never another vote on that subject again .

  Apparently if the meetings were held in the mornings very few would go out witnessing in the Afternoon.

  However if the meetings were held in the Afternoon many more people would go out witnessing in the mornings.

  So the Elders actually in effect rigged the vote in their favour.

  So the voting issue isnt with voting itself its what you are voting for .Politics a no no. because you are supposedly "voting" for Christ Jesus kingdom.

  Is it just me or do others on this forum like to know where posters are from ? What country state or region you are from ?

  Of course i can understand pimi may not want to divulge such information for fear they could be identified ,but even then maybe just the country ?

  I`m always curious as to what part of the world so and so is posting from some of us are quite open about it and others are a bit more cautious for obvious reasons .

  But for all of us who have no objection to it ,would you like to be more or less specific as you feel comfortable with in identifying where you are from ?

  And of course I will start :

  I live in Lakes Entrance in East Gippsland Victoria, Australia.,Google it.

  I look forward to where many of you live even if its just the country .

  But for those who are uncomfortable with this don`t do it.

  i can never get my head around this one ?

  don`t the powers that be ever really investigate religions that claim exemption from paying taxes because they claim they are a not for profit religion ?.

  you would have to be a brain dead imbecile not to see that the religion known as the" watchtower bible and tract society" otherwise known as "jehovah`s witnesses" are nothing more than a religious publishing house that have made x amount of $$$$$ over the years since their inception in the late 1800`s to this day.

  You would have to be a brain dead imbecile not to see that the religion known as the" Watchtower Bible and Tract Society" otherwise known as "Jehovah`s Witnesses" are nothing more than a Religious Publishing House that have made x amount of $$$$$ over the years since their inception in the late 1800`s to this day. And at the same time a massive Real Estate Enterprise that has amassed Billions of $$$$ in Real Estate Deals over this same period of time .

  How in the world they can be classed as a Not For Profit Religion beggars belief .

  Now don`t get me started on how they have been classed as a Charitable organization ,a charity ?

  When they do no charitable works whatsoever ? They in fact pass over their old and infirm over to the religious organizations they condemn as False religions and the governments ,who they don`t supprt , to look after them.

  They do nothing to help and support any of there members passing them off as merely volunteers who they have no obligation to look after .

  Many members who have served in the religion for 40,50,60 and more years are cast off without any assistance ,no financial help from the religion and told the Govts and religious institutions are what they can take advantage of .

  Has Robert Ciranko replaced Don Adams as president of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania ?

  robert ciranko has been a "helper" of the governing body in the writing department.. don adams (born 1925, presumably 91 years old now) has been president of the wtbts since 2000. .

  however, in recent official posts (april 2016), robert ciranko is identified as "president of the watch tower".

  does anybody know what happened and if this is an official change?.

  Giving that this particular news article has been found to be fake news ,I would be very surprised if no JW`s in New York or New York state have contracted Covid-19 where some have died.

  And this applies to Jehovah`s Witness HeadQuarters as well .After all their new residence is less than 60 miles from where they were in Brooklyn right ?

  Covid-19 is not restricted by boundarys is it ,nor by what faith you profess.

  Do you think the Governing Body of Jehovah`s Witnesses are incapable of lying ? being deceptive in matters that protect WT interests ?

  Do you believe they would hold back from giving a truthful answer to someone who they believed didn`t deserve to hear the truth ?

  In Jehovah`s Witness speak : How do they define "Theocratic Warfare " isnt it justified deception ? on there part ?

  it’s always been 10 hours when door to door was active.

  i’m curious of how it’s changed with only letter writing and phone witnessing approved.. i’m curious if they are able to do it for 3 hours like a typical door to door morning.

  Watching them from a vantage point in my house I think all of the r&f who do D2D work have adopted the" Pioneer crawl" and for some reason I can`t understand is when they get to a corner there is always ,well nearly always a conflab ? before moving on again ?

  Gotta stretch out the time I guess.

  Gone are the days when you could have a reasonably good discussion with a JW on your doorstep ,nowadys all they want you to do is if you don`t take any literature is look up JW.Org where you will find an answer to whatever question you pose ? NOT

  They should stop calling themselves Jehovah`s Witnesses because the last thing they want to do is Witness for Jehovah ?

  And there certainly not witnesses for Jesus ,How about "Watchtower witnesses" ? " Watchtower`s Governing body Witnesses " ?

  Thats probably more descriptive of them .
