i had a patient admitted from a skilled nursing facility/rehab that is an active jw.
the patient had covid-19 as did most of the patients at that facility.
typically the local elders are all involved in these admissions but there is a strict no visitor policy which includes clergy.
I think nowadays their would be quite a few who would take blood if they can be assured nobody else could know about it .And taking advantage of the strict visitor policy they could get away with this .
Of course the RN who is a JW could break confidentiality and spill the beans on anyone they know who is a JW to the Elders in the area where the patient lives ,and they could do this anonymously of course.
And a patient would not know or be aware of a RN being an active JW now would they.
there is an allegation floating around saying he assaulted one of his female staffers .
most mainstream media do not report on this claim.
they either don’t believe it or don’t want to believe it.. funny how if it were brett kavanaugh or donald trump, they would be all over it.
Isn`t there anyone in American politics from ,either both parties between the ages of 40-60 capable or competent { or wealthy enough } to run for Office of the American Presidency ?
Why do they have to pick old geezers who are candidates for Alzheimer's ,a Stroke , or Dementia ? within a couple of years ?

Mehlisue , In my awakening period which did take a long time ,I read a book written by an ex Jesuit priest whose name I just can`t remember ,though I know he was married and lived in the suburb of Ivanhoe Melbourne Victoria Australia .
I remember this bit of info because at one time I too lived there .
If I remember correctly the title of the book was , "The rise And Decline Of Christendom " It had a profound effect on me as I could relate to what he was going through in his crisis of faith even though he was Catholic and I was a Jehovah`s Witness.
It was a book I picked up at a Library and making contact with that library didn`t get me anywhere.I`m trying other avenues now to see if I have any luck.I would love to read it again now that I am fully out and free of religion .

All religions are man made with writings of men / women, that they base their Beliefs ,Traditions , and Doctrines on.
Presumably you are talking about Christianity and if so ,why do you need any organised Church to worship in.?
Why don`t you just stick to what is written in the Bible and follow your own path ?
Just remember the Bible was written by men and basically Jewish men who had their own agenda in mind.

Thank you for sharing that info jtg and of course JW`s are one of those that have the capacity to pay, haven`t yet joined the scheme.

i'm embarrassed, but working thru it.
I have been out for over 25 years now Difido was a JW for 32 years and where we live now I have made a few friends and in the past 14 years we have been here I haven`t told a soul I was once a JW.
I`m embarrassed that I was ever one still.
One day I might drop the bombshell on them and tell them ,I can just imagine their faces of disbelief .When I was a member of U3A { University of the 3rd Age } I was in a discussion group and gave a presentation about the JW`s however none of them are in my circle of friends I have now.
But I can relate how you feel. And as far as taking a big step in posting here I think we can all agree to that feeling.

i have a trove of old watchtower literature.
i know of course, and for example, to keep the three first volumes of the watchtower (bound) and a bunch of other items.
(and i handle them delicately.).
The first edition of "Aid To Bible Understanding" admitted that the pronunciation/ spelling of the name of GOD was most likely not Jehovah .However they admitted that they went with that name because it was the most popular name in use ?
I don`t think they included that in later additions.
Also if I remember correctly the word Elder was not even in that publication ,but it was only a few months later that the Elder arrangement was introduced
I thought even back then, that was strange .
Remember to keep the paragraph on the inside cover of the Watchtower about the generation that saw 1914 would see the fullfilment of Gods promises .{ You know what I mean}
With Doctor Who`s reasoning there could never be a Paradise Earth filled with perfect human beings ,his/her arguments refute such a possibility .
