  finally we have the society's expectations of elders in print.. this is from page 9 of the may 15th study edition.... "as indicated by the experiences of the apostle paul, our ministry may result in sleepless nights and times without food.

  6:5) these expressions paint a vivid picture of self-sacrifice and may well remind us of pioneers who give their ministry first place in life while supporting themselves financially.

  Why do Jw's have to pay for CO's expenses?

  this is something that has always bothered me!.

  why do rank and file have to pay for co's do's expenses, car, health insurance, meals, etc, etc...?.

  didn't the apostle paul say that all christians have to be self sufficient and work?, not depending on anyone else and cause a burden?.

  My Dad told me just this morning at work that a new elder, a VERY young man with a family, walked to where the co was sitting during the meeting, and gave him a white envelope. Afterwards, my Dad asked him what the envelope was all about. He said it was a personal cash gift to the co to show his familys appreciation. My Dad who is an ex elder himself, couldnt believe what he had just seen. All done in front of people DURING the meeting when he could be observed. I`m pleased to say my Dad was disgusted!

  Stay Alive Til 2020

  i've been playing around with wt statistics recently, helped by the great data available on jwfacts.com.

  i wanted to share somehting with the community, maybe you've seen something like this before.. continuing the trend of decline seen during the last 30 years, i was able to extrapolate the year when wt growth might finally end.

  if trends continue, we may only have to wait about 8 more years, 9 years to see it reported if the wt decides to report it at all, to see publisher growth end and possibly reverse.. the graph shows the annual growth rate of average publishers during the last 31 years.

  Unbelievable Assertion!!!!!!!

  we had our special assembly day this weekend.. what the district overseer stated in his talk totally stunned me, and made me feel sick to my stomach.

  he said, "christ is directing us through the governing body, and we cannot get holy spirit except through them!".

  i do not wish to reveal all my thoughts on his statement, but i pray to god that it acts as a wake-up call to at least some of the audience.. suffice to say that the gb is now the mediator to our mediator, and from now on, i will have to pray for holy spirit through the name of the gb!!.

  Does this now mean that the Holy Spirit needs to ask mother for permission to help people in times of weakness?...
