i'm not going to be able to mention everyone on this post, for many reasons, but i'd just like to mention a few folks who made my journey so much more comfortable.. thanks for all the many deep posts about the validity of the bible, the theory of evolution, scientific facts, etc.

You can go to your local book store and have it ordered. Your local library will do the same, only you can't keep it. I got my copy from Borders and it was inexpensive.

i have a question that puzzles me and would like to receive some ideas.
i used to be a witness for two years before fading away, leaving quietly.
i was not disfellowshipped and i did not write a letter of dissasociation.. the way i got babtised was such that noone from my congragation saw it since the babtisees were taken by buses from the convention to a private swimming pool.
If you go through with the lie (which I think could be hillarious) make sure to practice every detail of your story in advance. They will try to trip you up and will catch the slightest contradiction in your story.

i bought a tiny christmas tree today.
it's of rosemary, and smells heavenly.
i bought some small ornaments, and put them on it, and when my husband came home today, i surprised him with it.
That is so cool. I am so happy for you.
My first Christmas, I didn't put up a tree. But for the next one, we put up an 8 footer and it was grand! Enjoy your tree!

how many here were married as jw's to jw's??
if so, what was your main purpose in getting married to this person?
i ask this because, i married my dh so that i could get to know him.
I was disfellowshipped 2 years after marriage for pre-marital mis-conduct. I subsequently had two witnesses tell me that they had engaged in certain activity prior to being married and were still good standing JWs
Ballistic, I am so sorry. The WTS is full of double standards and do just whatever suits them at the moment.
I had never really thought much about the number of people in my Hall getting married. Out of 6 couples, all in good standing, only 2 couples were allowed to be married inside the Kingdom Hall. The rest of us just up and took off to the court house. In the 2 cases where the marraiges were performed in the Hall, one was an elder's brother and the brother in the other couple had been somewhat "adopted" by another elder in the cong.
I am sure that raging hormones and the fear of committing fornication is the biggest reason for young people to get married so quickly in the borg. How sad, that they feel they need to rush into such a lifelong commitment to satsify some stuckfast rule in an organization ran by power hungry idiots.

i was brought up with the c of e, not that this means much of itself.
i was a misfit at school and felt i did not belong and wondered about the meaning of life.
