Spiritual heritage.
The rod.
so we all know the jw vocabulary is a weird one.
what words or phrases bugged you the most?.
a few of mine:.
Spiritual heritage.
The rod.
following recent posts, articles, blogs (thanks cedar and others for their excellent work) i would like to contribute something, to show the hypocrisy and the constant doctrinal changes of the society.. .
to begin:.
qualified to be ministers (1955) p.156 par.
Marking
"Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
"Relax, " said the night man,
"We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave! "
our friend, oompa, has passed away.
just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.
it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.
such a tragic loss. RIP OOMPA
i have a question for the author of the website jwfacts.
as i was reading the sparlock article, i couldn't help but notice something seriously wrong:.
"the bible abounds in vivid fantasy, such as its many celestial descriptions, or the portrayal of warring kingdoms with imaginary beasts.. the sparlock message is confusing, as much for an adult as for a child, as the bible shows that god's followers practice magic, even if they are usually referred to as miracles.
Cedars: 'As part of your "research", I recommend reading the Wikipedia article on Ouija boards - specifically how they work. I'll give you a spoiler - the common consensus seems to be that they're not operated by the spirit world.'
Exactly, People really think that Parker Brothers figured out a way to contact the sprit world with a cardboard game?
Here is another news flash for Recovery; I was married to a rom gypsy whose family told fortunes. Yes, the whole contacting spirits, crystal ball, cures for evil spirts and such. Totally fake. Wrong, yes, but had nothing to do with spirits or demons or any other woo woo. They justified it by claiming they were no more than a poor man's psychiatrist.

Since YHWH had not selected the bible students as his chosen organization on earth yet, was C. T. Russell's Miracle Wheat really Magic Wheat?
If 'Miracle Wheat' in what way did it serve God's will?
i have been sending one "apostate" email after another to an elder in my congo (who frequently does circuit and district convention parts) and i'm still not df'd.... i've even sent him a free pdf copy of "crisis of conscience" twice in the last 3 months (sorry cynthia franz), as well as emails about the whole spectrum of bullshit (607, 144k, 1935, blood, proof of lies, false predictions, etc...).
he vary rarely responds but i know he's reading them because he said so in a recent google chat.... he even acknowledged that the wt got 607 wrong but then says that i should look at the positives and stop finding fault.... but still... i sent some really strong gb-bashing emails and i'n not df'd.... i mean seriously, i've pushed the envelope as far as i possibly can.. what the hell is going on???
.
Once the elder got the first email, he may have blocked your emails or direct them directly to the trash bin. He may not even know that you are sending them.
The GB looking down only sees a bunch of sh*t heads.
The R&F looking up only sees a bunch of assholes.
in my last meeting to be re-instated they said for next time figure out which person from the bible i'm most like.
and be ready to tell them what i pray about and how i feel about what i did to jehovah.
being honest , speaking from the heart about jesus forgiving peter and having a hard time answering the prayer question didn't work getting hysterical and nervous-breakdownish at the end didn't help, nor did running out of the hall after saying i could never do any better.
Christiandom opens up their doors to help people who suffer from alcolholism by hosting AA meetings free of charge.
JW's give you the boot from their ever so clean holy temple to suffer alone without support.
Wasn't there someone in Jesus day who acted that way too?
Best of luck to you Meadow.
i'm not sure how long it's been up, but jwfacts has written his own article discussing the sparlock debacle - and it's a great piece of work.. here is the link.... http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/blog/sparlock.php.
in the article he uses a fantastic quote from a 1994 awake!
magazine which reads as follows.... .
After watching the Sparlock video, I think the question for JWs at this point is, should they allow their children to watch the Disney Jr channel?
After all it's tag line is; 'Where the MAGIC begins' http://disney.go.com/disneyjunior
Mickey and Minney are trying to get our children to worship Satan at such a young age. Also note how they push pagan birthdays on that site.
The only imagination that the WT wants your children to engage in, is the imagining god killing 99.9% of the world population.
