Pagan Heretic?
by SpiceItUp inthis matter has been on my mind for a while and i just know that sparks are going to fly for some.. its not that i dont think that the bible has good moral/ethical values but its more on how much it is relied upon as nonfiction.
personally, i think of it as a more revered version of "aesop's tales" or "the canterbury tales".
a book written by the earliest known psychiatrists (ok so this is going out on a limb but you get the gist) to teach the general population how to behave.

Getting off on their power trip
by SpiceItUp ini think in a way the wt along with the elders are molesters themselves.
think of the simularities.
first...this is the definition, courtesy of webster, of molest - "to bother, annoy, or persecute: to accost sexually".

the bible....literal or just basic common sense values?
by SpiceItUp ini've been annoying most of my friends lately with all sorts of bible and religion etc discussion and am getting all sorts of intersting viewpoints.. one was that the bible was only intended to be a guide with simple rules to follow.
such as the ten commandments, the 7 deadly sins and the fruits of the spirit.. i have to agree that if you were to follow such basic principles (which would hopefully be common sense) life should fall into place.. not to mention when you try to take the bible literally it should be just cause for us to start stoning people, giving up sacrafices as well as poligamy.. of coarse my friend also believes the bible was inspired by god and the contradictions he admits are in it are due to imperfect men putting down there own perspective on things.
that i don't agree with but the basic principles i think should be followed.. any thoughts?

What got me through the years!
by SpiceItUp init was very hard growing up as a jw in my teen years.
i used to put all my feelings and thoughts down with the intention that if they helped just one person then it was worth it.
funny thing is, is that i helped myself to start working through many of the issues i would end up confronting (along with more to come in the future).
