  Jws getting drunk

  has anyone got any good 'jws and alcohol' stories?

  i always found it amazing that so many jws got blind drunk at parties and got away with it!

  i suppose alcohol was the only fun thing we were allowed to partake in....

  I found one jw elder in the gutter blind drunk in a road near me. I bundled him in the car - he was absolutely smashed and took him home.

  A few days later his wife rang and tried to berate me for taking him out and getting him drunk.

  I politely but firmly told her I had nothing to do with her husband getting drunk - I had merely stumbled upon him lying polatic in the road on my way home.

  She then had to apologise and eat a bit of humble pie and thank me for getting him home safely.

  His shepherding calls to me after that were very sheepish indeed!!!

  Got my convention invitation

  how things have changed, apparently they totally forgot i am an "evil apostate" two good looking ladies came to my door, my wife opened the door.. handed my wife the tract and said they are simply inviting people in the area, nothing further, not even a bible or other literature in their hand.. the invitation is small, like the size that a small 3-fold tract used to be.

  i remember the last invitation was at least a proper sheet of paper.

  and thin, you can see right through it.

  The jw's write letters (uninvited and unsolicited) to anybody they choose.

  They call uninvited to any home/business they chose - even on national holidays and at times when people may be expecting to have a sleep in.

  They have even telephone witnessed to people at home and and work uninvited to aggressively promote their beliefs.

  So yes, of course we must respect and honour AM's privacy.....

  Good point - I will use that.

  The next time I get hounded by the elders jumping out of the bushes when I come home from work, firing probing questions etc I will simply tell them that I want to be left alone and have my privacy respected just like AM.

  The jw's are completely brainwashed - they will not let people quietly fade without hounding badmouthing and harassing them.

  Whatever happens in the future regarding AM it is because he in now in the real world and not some weird, unreal, sanitised bethel bubble.

  A high profile wt figure like this man who has made so many provocative, incendiary comments about people he feels are worthy of destruction should perhaps be living in accommodation with much better visible and non visible security..

  Just my opinion of course.

  I then thought of the way the wt historically hounds/seeks out/ delivers unsolicited mail and many times pounces on former members at home and at work when they have tried to silently fade away.....
