  uh oh, looks like the mega thread gave up the ghost, so while i investigate / fix it just continue the discussion here .... it's been a long 9 years lloyd evans / john cedars.

  I just assumed he closed it to try and hide his assets ahead of a divorce.

  A former elder in one of my previous halls went off with a sister in the kh.

  He was a wealthy man with a thriving business and lots of property.

  He claimed though that he lived in one of his own very humble, modest apartments and he did not have much assets/money in the bank to his name at the time of his divorce.

  Strangely, just a year or so later he was living a very salubrious property in a well to do area with his business suddenly thriving again.

  Last I heard he and his new partner were attending a kh near his new house to try and create a new life for themselves together...

  ( starts at the 21:00 minute mark ) governing body member jeffrey winder reveals the real reason for the failed doctrines throughout the watchtower's 150 year history.

  he claims that the governing body are neither inspired or infallible.. the governing body do not need to apologize for getting doctrines wrong.. the governing body ''do their best with what they have and what they understand at the time.''.

  They truly are False Prophets and Shameless Charlatans !

  My friend and I once stopped a nun on streetwork back in 1983. She was very friendly until she realised we were jw's.

  Then she snarled that we were the biggest charlatans and false prophets the world had ever seen.

  Although she was only around five feet tall to my six feet, I admit I was slightly afraid of her raw rage and anger - so we beat a hasty retreat!

  We used to get told in jw land that there were umpteen numbers of different religions on the planet.

  Did ANY of these other religions fixate on 1914 like the watchtower has done?

  with what is arguably the biggest change to jw life in recent decades (the scrapping of publishers counting hours) what does this lead to?.

  in my mind these are the results;.

  1) a massive decrease in 'preaching hours'.

  even with amalgamation of 2 congregations.

  the elders are handling the microphones and there was only one comment from zoom at the watchtower.

  It always used to amaze me that they thought even long faded, totally disinterested ex jw's would somehow be gagging to attend their totally unscriptural annual memorial..🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
