How weird is this?
by safe4kids inas many of you know, i'm divorced, have been for 2 years now, after a 13 year marriage.
my ex and i get along pretty well, we're friends of a sort, and we have our kids' well being as our main priority in life.
that's not the weird part..well, i suppose in some ways it is, but that may be a story for another post!.

that's great that you can get along with your ex. I think that sometimes some couples get along better when they are not a couple, as is the case with now with my future ex husband

JW Editorial in My Local Paper
by Bendrr inmet with mayor .
during his campaign for mayor, jack ellis promised that his office would always be open for the citizens of macon.
so, on dec. 17, a spiritual brother and i, both jehovah's witnesses, called on the mayor to present an important article in our magazine that contained a recent landmark decision by the u.s. supreme court that gives us and others a legal right to visit the homes of the people to express our views.

Is it just me or does the above letter to the Macon Telegraph come across as a lack of the JW's alleged political neutrality?
no it isnt just you. the letter oozes with non-neutrality.

once Saturday morning I was in a small group in field service. It was pretty warm. I was walking and looking down at the ground and for some reason I decided to look up. It seemed that everyone was walking with their heads down. I said to myself we all look like pathetic drones, like robots just knocking on doors pushing worthless crappy magazines on people. That's when I realized it was over for me. I attended the district assembly a couple of weeks after that, but I felt so out of it, so bored, I couldnt even remember what any of it was about, it wasn't like other years when I look so forward to the assemblies I could hardly sit still. That year it was all over, I couldnt take it anymore.

Do not blame the workers in the field
by whyhideit inoften when discussing with jehovah's witnesses the problems of the organization, it is common for them to say they think you are lying.
they may feel in some way or another that you have fallen away from the pure light, and have become blinded to jehovah, and opened your eyes to satan's false teaching.
these words, and the thinking i have expressed, should sound very familiar to any reader who has spent time in the organization.

what you have written is absolutely fascinating and absolutely true, as I have personally taken that same approach when I face witnesses coming into my area or into my home. I never bring anything up as far as the pedophilia or UN involvement, I just smile sweetly and let them continue on their way. I see them as generally good people but severely misguided. Of course if any of the Witnesses has a desire to probe into why I chose to leave, I'll be more than happy to explain.

quite honestly I dont like any of them. I think the site should be either be completely left alone with nothing more than a memorial or small buildings---small in my mind would be 40 stories or less.

male home owner: *opens door* "yes?".
female jw: "hello, my name is gloria and this is my friend amy.

How have you rooted out the WT (harmful) doctrines
by Marcos inwhen i left the wt i basically never looked back.
i decided that they would never again impact my life as they had in the past.. here is the problem in my case.
after all these years, i have finally been faced with some situations that i had to react to and have seen that a lot of the old teachings were still influencing my decisions in life (ie.

I had to research extensively the 1914 doctrine in order to liberate my thinking with regards to the FDS. Once I realized that the date is completely wrong and the calculations fabricated, I was able to completely chuck the whole org and its beliefs and not feel even an ounce of guilt, or have any "what ifs" hanging over me.

IS THIS A HEALING PLACE?
by hamptonite21 inmany come to this board with wounds from the past in the jdub dom.
sometimes this place just pours salt in these wounds, attacking peoples character and support groups that people seek refuge.
(ie silent lambs) im sure in disgust many have vacated the board.

absolutely this is a healing place its so comforting, for me personally, to read about all the different experiences of people who have been JWs, and what made them leave. I can relate to so many people here its almost unbelieveable.
