  Are You The Type Of Person That Really "Loves" People On This Site?

  i know some here seem to truly be interested in everyone's welfare.

  they seem to be really troubled/happy by another poster's health, life, children, job, sex life, worries, anxieties---you name it, they're very involved in "caring" about people that they hardly know.. i have forged some friendships, i've met some great people on this site.

  i've communicated with many nice people here.

  I have a soft spot for several on this board..you can tell when someone is genuine and caring and not just throwing their I Love You's out willy nilly..

  The ones that bother to ask you later how things are going or what has happened regarding a situation that may have happened.

  I like many people but only love a select few out of all of them . I can't say I love anyone on a computer..but I do care deeply for a few of them..and some very deeply. Ion/Dansk was one of them..I think we all fought the fight with him..and were deeply angered and hurt when he lost the fight. May he RIP..

  I found the archives one time and read forever it seemed like..looked like an interesting place as I knew of several that posted on Mo Chat and JWO (Not the newest one) and Sparky's and a couple other boards that went there..I could see the history a lot of them had together. Many still talk about the "famous fights" there..and a few still hold grudges believe it or not.. Then I got a bad computer virus and blamed it on something in the site and never went back..

  my friend called round before and has just left.

  he told me that he was worried about me and that he wanted to speak to me as to why i havnt been going to the meetings or on the field service.

  i told him that im just not discussing the reasons at all.

  In all my 15 years in I really can't say that the elders helped anyone with any problem..they always tell them to pray and study more and then when you don't change to suit them they blame it on your weak spirituality not their sheparding..they have all the bases covered!

  They know all the tricks, that's why they are still around.

  Malpractice lawsuit

  from 1963 to 1980, the watchtower society "forbade" their flock from having organ transplants, saying it was cannibalism.. it looks to me like the w.t.

  society is "practicing medicine", giving advice about medical issues without having a medical license for this.. wouldn't and shouldn't this be called "malpractice", and put the w.t.

  in a position for a malpractice lawsuit?

  It still amazes me the crazy things people sue for and get away with it and the ones that should sue and do and don't get anything..

  A prime example is cigarettes..they sued the makers and won all because they didn't have a warning on them..like who wouldn't know that when you first inhale something and it burns the heck out of your mouth and you get a cough that it isn't good for you? And yet they were able to sue.

  Now they have huge warnings and yet some can still sue and get away with it..

  Like our common sense wasn't given to us for a reason? Like we didn't have a choice? People believe what they want to believe..can we blame someone else for our own weaknesses for falling for such Bull..? People have to take responsibility for at least some of their own actions..

  ive added a new article to my blog showing a statement one of watchtowers lawyers made to medical researchers about jehovahs witnesses deciding privately to accept transfusion of blood.

  i think readers will find his assertion rather surprising; but maybe not.

  Prior to questioning them, the brother who's experienced in these matters advised to me that there's really nothing we can do other than ascertain whether they willfully accept a transfusion, and whether there's remorse involved.

  So George if they don't know for sure they can't do anything to her right?..

  Can't they be told the same thing they tell others when something negative is said about the JW's..No man is perfect and God will judge them, it isn't our job?. Isn't that what they say about the child abusers in their congregations?
  That's what a witness told me when I related their (JW's) current policy on child abuse and how the abusers were handled..

  most folks have never seen a watchtower letter breaking this news.

  Great thread and interesting observations..

  My 2 comments are Re:

  1) A review of organizational policy and directives clearly establishes that there is no basis for disciplinary action in this particular case as congregation members are free to choose for themselves which congregation they will formally join and attend based on their individual circumstances.

  This brought back memories..they always discouraged us from going to other congregations. If we did we had to have a pretty good excuse why. They made you feel like you were being disloyal to Jehovah if you strayed..made you feel pretty uncomfortable if you did. No disciplinary action but I bet if it were doe a few times we would hear something from them ..

  2) Interesting point about each congregation supposed to be "On their own" and yet their decisions regarding their congregation were dismissed. I too can see this opening a whole can of worms regarding future lawsuits..A good thing right?

  How should I respond to a JW friend? (Australia)

  sorry if this isn't the right place to post this - brand new member here.. i recently caught up with an old friend who is a jw.

  she's been witnessing to me, and i've accepted all her handouts because i don't want to hurt her feelings.

  but now she's asking me for my "thoughts" about what i've read so far.

  I have some JW friends in Australia also..I had a few discussions with the married daughter and when I made a good point on a subject she would answer that their religion isn't perfect..when I brought up the child abuse she replied that men aren't perfect and God (Jehovah) will judge their hearts..(meantime they can continue to do what they do?)

  So their answer when confronted with something they can't argue down is " They (the witnesses) aren't perfect..and god will take care of it.Copout answer!

  Don't know, if someone did that to one of my kids I would have been upset..I watched as a teen when a couple of guys (teens) tried to get my girlfriends jeans off and had her down on the ground..I was helpless and she was crying. They finally let her up laughing and left the school yard where we were at. They should have been arrested. They already had a record as juvies but we were both too scared to tell anyone. Their favorite trick was to grab at her skirt to see if she was wearing a monthly pad..It was the 6th grade and they teased her all the time because she had almost 36 inch boobs and a figure already..she had flunked one year so was actually a 7th grader at that time. They should have been severly punished for the things they did and got away with..

  Can't see how this would be any different just because it was considered a prank..

  Kids can be so cruel..because they get away with it..
