I don't know if it does or doesn't. But if they do not bring up their view of the trinity, or if they do not emphasize it, they might also attract people who might otherwise turn them away.

JW Obession with the trinity
by Riley inso a few years i watched a lecture series by a man named dr. micheal heiser called the two powers in heaven, jesus in the old testament.
funny thing was it wasn't even very evangelical in nature, so i turned off my religious binders and just watched it like a regular person.
it turns out that the new testament is a hinge point in the bible.

They may also be ignoring it because they need all the converts they can get, and anything that might prevent people from joining or staying will get short shrift in the hopes that it doesn't become an issue for them.

Without knowing how much those men are making, it's difficult to determine how fair the system was.
But also, that's not quite an accurate representation of the tax system either. It's possible that, after the bartender gave the group a break, the last four men would be paid to drink beer (tax credits).
And of course, if that tenth guy was Elon Musk, he might have paid the largest booze bill in human history... or not paid anything at all.
I guess I could keep going. The point is, the tax system in the USA is fucked.

ThomasMore: They get it wrong with such frequency that I have wondered if they were intentionally trying to misdirect their followers through blatant confusion.
That's how I see it. Rutherford was so determined to rebuild the entire religious structure of the organization that he reinterpreted as much of the Bible as he could and built a cult around the ideas that he invented. He seemed to want to interpret scripture specifically in opposition to generally-regarded ideas and interpretations. After all, one way to show that you are God's only chosen is to show how everyone else gets it wrong.
The leadership has followed that approach ever since, and held on to some ideas no matter what. The teachings on blood have been softened so much that they don't really match the original intention, but they can still point to it as a differentiator between them and "Christendom." And they still come up with new light that further changes things while still clinging to a shred of the original idea, like the teaching about generations.
I think they long passed the point where it stopped making sense and they are just making sure that they can claim that they are different because they are the only ones who have the 'real truth.' They are a bunch of old men who have spent so many years listening only to one another that they ended up in a bubble where any idea, no matter how nonsensical to a normal person, sounds great to them.

Aye, humanity is very smart on the micro level, but we're very much like every other animal species on the macro level. We're smart and dumb enough to be dangerous.

A list of failed predictions of Christ's Return
by fulltimestudent insomeone associated with wikipedia has compiled this list of the many failed predictions of christ's return.
the predictions seem to come from many believers across a spectrum of various religions.
it does however, miss one that we would be aware of, freddy franz's 1975.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/predictions_and_claims_for_the_second_coming.

God's rest day was right after the creation. The stuff about a "7th 1000 year period of the 7th creative day" is made up nonsense from Franz. He used it to imply that 1975 would mark a specific point on God's timetable, making it seem as if Armageddon had to occur at that time. He would occasionally insist that he wasn't setting any dates, knowing how much trouble Rutherford created with his 1925 predictions. But JWs understood what he meant, just as they "understood" the revised claims that were made after the fact.

That should put an end to it. Anyone bringing up the organization's past scares the daylights out of them, if they have even a tiny inkling about it. And if they tell HQ about what happened, they will be told in strict terms not to discuss it and to forget anything they heard and stay far away from anyone pushing such "lies."
The history of the JWs is the one thing that could topple the whole religion in the shortest time.

Simon: Defamation is meaningless without damages - i.e. some demonstrably material impact on your income.
The "demonstrable" part would be the real problem for him. He could claim damages, and point out his income loss after this all started. But he would need to demonstrate that it was from any defamatory statements. Since he confirmed many of the claims, those are not actionable, and any income loss from those claims would not be valid. In other words, he would need to get statements from his patrons explaining that it was specifically any defamatory claims that caused them to drop support.
And that assumes that he can demonstrate that anyone made defamatory claims. So far, his only response to requests for examples is that he doesn't have to demonstrate them until the proceedings are underway. A standard that doesn't seem to apply to pretty much anything else related to his case.
But let's put aside the issue that there don't seem to be any actionable claims. And let's also imagine that he somehow got 450+ patrons to agree to testify as to why they dropped support. Can you imagine what a shitshow that would be? Person after person explaining that it was enough to know that he was cheating on his wife and two young children for them to stop giving him money. Who would want to go on the stand and say "I had no issue with him visiting prostitutes regularly though he was married with two little girls, or leaving them behind to date a sex worker in Thailand, but this other thing would have been too much"?
If he wants to write a book about the whole experience, he should title it That Time That I Kept Stepping on Rakes. Or How to Ruin Your Life in Two Easy Steps.

The peak number was around 887, if I recall correctly.
I don't think he's gay. He supports the LGBT community openly, so I don't think he would feel any reason to hide it. He seems too open about his sex life. I shudder to think of what he would have kept from the public, if he still has any secrets in that area of his life.
