  I actually think this would be really nice to see. I am not sure why people aren't getting what you are doing. Does anyone here really know how to answer a JW in the mindset described ina way that could spark a flame? I haven't seen any responses yet that would help in the defence of what everyone on this board believes to be true.

  My wife has used this EXACT argumentation with me. She is pretty open minded. Give me some things to go at her with people. :) We aren't all just existing here are we? We are trying to accomplish something in this community aren't we?

  Hey guys, this isn't a JW apologist. I mean, look at the articles. None of them tow the company line. Its just a softer approach. I think that is probably what is missing here since this place is half therapy. :) That is meant with the highest regard for you fine people of course.

  Interesting. Nobody has really taken up a mantle against the JW apologist yet. I will wait with anticipation to see actual responses for this little experiment. grabs popcorn*

  This is important though. There are alot of people here with one foot in and one foot out, and even the casual conversation diverts to this reasoning.

  Hey Ethos. Technically I am a JW, so if I wanted to know what a JW thought I would just ask myself.

  If you are asking what we think we would like to discuss with YOU, then I suppose the question would be what teaching is a deal breaker for you? For me its blood. I think it is a full stop for me and I am still skidding.

  Would you consider yourself a JW apologist?

  the paragraph regarding the rebellion of korah against moses, is of course not a new comparrison.

  Do you ever make a toast (raise your glass, I mean, not put bread in a toaster)?

  i had quite the fun time at my wedding reception with the jw family so worried that my non-jw aunt was going to do a toast.

  unlike them, i do have regard for not offending the conscience of others, so of course i wasn't going to allow that under the circumstances.

  i mean, if they really thought i was going to let them do that, why did they even come in the first place?

  Most of my JW friends if not all of them, clink glasses if we are out having a brew or a glass of wine. I mean pretty much across the board. Its just they wouldn't do it around elders or whatever.

  Interesting fun fact. Clinking glasses together comes from back in Scandinavia where enemies would sometimes dine togehter because there was only one place to eat. LArge wooden or carved cups would hold the grog. They would slap them together, and the liquid would splash into each others cups. it was a way of saying there was a truce for the evening (no poison in either cup).

  So not even demonic. :)

  Don't read too much into this guys. If an agent says something is worth a certain amont, they are usually going to come in lower. Its the nature of real estate. I don't think its desperation. Its 81 million for a hotel in Brooklyn. Probably about right.
