I went since I'm trying to get reinstated. It was held in a crappy motel with a poorly functioning air conditioner. Combined with 180 people, it was just so fun!

2016 Memorial Done & Dusted
by steve2 inwell on this side of the planet, the southern hemisphere/ new zealand, the 2016 memorial service in local kingdom halls will be over for another year.
another great big anticlimax.
some family and relatives will have gone - but unless i ask my sister, i generally have no idea about attendance and partaker numbers.

in january 1981, ulvaeus married lena källersjö, and manager stig anderson celebrated his 50th birthday with a party.
for this occasion, abba recorded the track "hovas vittne" (a pun on the swedish name for jehovah's witness and anderson's birthplace, hova) as a tribute to him, and released it only on 200 red vinyl copies, to be distributed to the guests attending the party.

" to save you trouble, it says: "do not remember the former things, and do not dwell on the past.".
i'd like to see him read that scripture to the victims of the hundreds and hundreds of abuse cases the arc has unveiled from over the past 50 years.

entice their children to give their money to the catholic church.. if you have any jws that have not seen the original yet, give this to them and let them paint themselves into a corner slamming the catholics for stooping so low and then let them in on the fact that it originated with the jws.. .

Ekala Convention Hall To be Sold - Sri Lanka

this was built on some where around 1990's.
now the sri lanka branch committee has decided to sale the property.what is the reason behind this??????????????

The memorial beauty pageant
by BlackWolf insince the memorial is coming up soon and its about time for me to go shopping for a new memorial ( aka easter) dress, i've realized what the memorial really is for us teenage girls, a beauty pageant!
the memorial is the day i spend painting my nails, curling my hair, and carefully applying makeup because my mother says i have to "represent jehovah" and look my best.
in reality its just to impress the newcomers and to compete with the other girls.

It's so very true. I would do it for the memorial, conventions and assemblies. I always had to have a new dress, and I would always go the extra mile with hair and make up. It was the most fun part of these events. It's funny to look back now at how hypocritical I was. I used to mock people who only showed up for the memorial in that they were no better than worldly people who only went to church on Easter. But I was the same as a religious worldly person on Easter, with buying a brand new memorial dress. -

Little Free Library

almost finished with a "little free library" to set up in front of the house and was wondering if anyone else has put one of these up?
got to thinking that it may get filled up with my tots fav periodicals, watchtower and awake.. anyone else had any experience with this?

Unfortunately about a year ago I would've been a JW to fill your lovely little library with Watchtower and awakes (and maybe a bible teach book here and there). There are many free little libraries where I live and I would hit them all up when I was in early morning service. Easy way to pass the time and rack up the placement count.
I feel like I need to apologize to every business/home owner I littered with JW propaganda.
