by Lady Zombie inwhen the iron curtain fell in the 90's, my parents went to russia with a group of other jws.
since then, they've taught themselves russian and now go over about every 3rd year.
they also work the russian territory here once a month and spend about 10 hours traveling around in a 100 mile radius.

Letter regarding the WTS from the UN
by heybaby inok, so i keep reading on here how the wts was associated with the un.
i had never heard anything about this.
i guess i shouldn't be surprised, since the un is the "beast" and i know the wts would never let the congregations know they were in bed with them.

He said that there had to be a good reason for the WTS joining. I said if the UN is so horrible, then the WTS should have nothing to do with them at all. To which he replied, they may have joined before information came out in the publications showing that the UN is the "beast."
It really is about one word here: COMPROMISE. { I wrote about this is the long U.N. thread...it was my sisters conclusion upon hearing the news}
That, is simply, what wt did here. At the "flocks" expense.

7 What is it that apostates want? Most are not content to leave the faith that they once perhaps viewed as true. Often, they want to take others with them. Rather than going out and making their own disciples, many apostates seek to "draw away the disciples [that is, Christ?s disciples] after themselves." (Acts 20:29,30) Regarding false teachers, the apostle Paul sounded this urgent warning: "Look out: perhaps there may be someone who will carry you off as his prey." (Colossians 2:8) Does that not describe what many apostates try to do? Like a kidnapper who carries an unsuspecting victim away from his family, apostates prey upon trusting members of the congregation, seeking to carry them away from the flock. [ LOLOL! ]
So tell me, those who willingly choose to associate...is this a bit extreme and dramatic on your leaders part? Or is it on The Money?

Bad Associations spoil useful habits. Are the JWs right? Scripturally?
by Open mind init has been interesting for me to learn the various ways that the jws twist the scriptures to fit their own dogma.
(of course jws aren't alone in that, but that's another topic.
) two quick examples of jws not following or going beyond the bible are blood and birthdays.

Do you believe that a woman has to be married to be happy?
by MsMcDucket ini'm just wondering because i was raised to believe that a woman should get married and have children.
i think that this is an out-dated philosophy and that girls shouldn't be taught that they have to be in a marriage to be complete.
