  Bring on the YOUNG elders

  there seems to be a push to fast track the younger men to become elders.

  beings jesus was 30 when he took up his ministry, i would think that would sort of be an age gauge...the older men were to have their children in subjection, so some were old enough to have children that were old enough to want to rebel.

  ( that's my slant ) how will the ones who have been jw for years respond to being counseled by those younger than some of their grandchildren?

  There are many function in the congregations where age is not an essential asset. They have to give the capable youngsters a meaningful rule among the often boring old guard.

  My advice to one of those 21 year olds: "Keep your Christian Innocence" . He is not a "newly converted man", but wt promotion could go to his head. who knows there might be good trojan horses among those not loaded down with wt doctrinal baggage.

  Did you ever meet someone born in the 1800’s?

  i met freddie franz who was born in the 1880’s and many others from the 1880’s.

  but as a very small child i remember someone very old aged 106 and that person was born around 1856 which means that he was around people from the 1700’s..

  In my hometown in my youth lived both Adolf and Albert. Heard, but never met them, but it's safe to say that a quarter of the people around then were born in the previous century. Conversed with F .Franz, Br. Friend, even more bizarre old partakers.

  At 91+, if you asked me if I belonged to that now gone generation or the newer crop, I would have to stay with the gone seniors. Does that make me an overlapper? my feelings do not render valid the overlapping overreach of the wt anointed generation .

  D. Splane used FF's life as an example of long lived anointed, "serving" at age ~ 20, dying at close to a 100. He mentioned there are possibly partakers older than Fr Fr. .

  Fr Fr died in 93, at the time, the wt prophecy for end of the generation, according to magazine headlines, was before the end of the century: 1999.

  now, as calculated, 2075

  There is no new light The deadline was in the past before the death of Brother Fred Franz more or less.

  Because the great tribulation dd not occur back then, the only explanation for that is that the definition of generation involves a younger age group living on borrowed time.

  The only explanation is really, that the whole convoluted 607. 1914, 1919, 1918, 1925, calculation is meaningless, found wanting every time.

  wt and its defenders should be now see the handwriting on the wall.

  Being found to be false prophets confirmed again and again.

  I’m only saying that overlap is valid and the last and only definition of generation left given 1914.Fm.

  could it be said that a generation has passed until only one last member is left? drop the anointing, drop the overlap

  The human lifespan is 120 years. 1914 -2034
  There still may be 1000 110 years old alive past 2024

  surviving the GT? concentrate on humanitarian works. help the least noteworthy. Math 25.

  The GB members are only the tip of the iceberg, all anointed are the generation.

  Similarly if you apply to 1914 the sign and the generation it refers to the anointed and not to people in general. Fisherman

  you have not come to term with what the bible really says.

  The generation will pass on, after all has occurred.

  It can not possibly the wt anointed, they pass away heavenward at the start of the Great Tribulation,

  It can not be the wicked generation, they will die during, not after all occurs, in paradise.

  It can not the sheep, they go off into everlasting life, they will not die. right away.

  the generation must be those that die in the final test. at the four corners of the Earth.

  If you value truth, you would try to refute those bible / wt facts.

  the only possible definition of generation that will not pass away is the overlap. There is no other possible definition so the great tribulation must hit shortly before the second group of anointed die off. Fisherman,

  You have not addressed the main issue, namely that wt is not correct. because according to their writers

  The anointed will pass away not until all has passed, but before it even starts. and

  calculations based on David Splane's talk on the chart,

  the overlapping groups do not expire until 2075.

  2 centenarians overlapping by 20 years each.

  200 minus 40 equals 160 plus 1014 comes to ~ 2075 allowing for a few years of tribulating.

  somebody mentioned in a recent topic that they had a conversation with a former elder whose breaking point was when the overlapping generation was highlighted in recent times and how he would never serve again until somebody gave him a scriptural reason to believe it.

  i am in a similar position.

  i have gone in the last 18 months from taking the wt study, leading fs groups, and doing talks on the mtngs to doing almost nothing, as i resigned a little over a year ago as an elder due to a combination of family responsibilities and huge doubts.

  You said it, I is the only interpretation left. and it is wrong.

  wt interpreted, predicted, prophesied, that in 1914 the world would end, and the wt anointed would be taken to heaven.

  The only definition left? all in the name of God, a witness to God?

  Feel sorry for youall.
