  i know this recent video has been talked about already but i just watched it and here are a few things that got me annoyed as usual:.

  splane says that if a bible student says he saw some negative information from apostates and asks us to explain it, we shouldn't look at it or address anything specifically, but instead we should tell them to go to meetings and hear what we have to say about ourselves and also tell them to befriend people at the hall.

  for any person with integrity and/or intelligence, this is not a satisfactory answer.

  David Splane identifies the key concern of Wallkill or is it Warwick. when in the outset he identifies the bull's eye of "Satan's attack" as the "structure of Jehovah's organisation"

  "Satan", being only the first of the straw men situations he sets up to restrict the scope of the arguments.

  Not a peep about the doctrinal failures, expect a brief reference to "Noah's Ark" not the ~ 10 km of additional water present ~ 2021 years before Christ , covering Everest.

  On the report of children dying, he failed to mention that wt itself published a special issue about young ones that lost their lives because of the blood issue.

  DS: " This is war" declaring it officially. reminds me, how in the 1930, 40s in Europe, heavy penalties were meted out to anybody listening to BBC, so as to find an alternative story. Ideally, wt wants all jws to have only 'volksempfängers', I guess; Mercifully Splane did not threaten dissidents with death at Armageddon or shunning now. finally

  appeal to emotions,

  Good text about wisdom in walking with the wise ones though:

  making you wise to the wiles of wt speakers, wise to the errors, hopelessness inherent in the ever changing wt teachings, the unfulfilled, unfulfillable wt promises.

  The Last Day

  [7-1-98 wt – martha said of her dead brother, lazarus: “i know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” (john 11:24) how did she know that?

  …she might even have learned this from jesus himself.

  (john 6:39 - this is the will of him who sent me, that i should lose none out of all those whom he has given me, but that i should resurrect them on the last day.

  wt places the first (heavenly) resurrection to have started at 1918, after the expelling of Satan , into a cleansed heavens.

  Did Lazarus become one of the anointed? or died a second time still with an earthly hope as all the apostles at the time until Pentecost? anyway,

  the last day lasts a long time. perhaps there might be more last days than we can imagine.

  did you ever had a over zealous brother/sister with tales that where even told from the platform on how gee-hovah did things for this person at nausea.

  just made you sick.

  me: selling the wt and awake for 10 cents at 5 years old.

  i don't mean to brag or anything, but i sold 'em like hotcakes.

  i musta been a cutie at 5 yo.

  Some of us would count time we never put in. LOL

  mbc: there was a story going around of a circuit overseer traveling to a far away weekly assignment, dropping in on a 'pioneer home' on the way, and finding one full timer writing a letter to a 'call' , all the others in bed, but counting time. horizontal group witnessing.

  the 10 minutes for every human on earth per year must be generated somehow.

  How old are you waton?

  SB. I gave wt a last chance with the idea, that " it would be appropriate to have the 'forever young' paradise start in 1975 ", have tried to age as little as possible since then. so, the biological count is kind of on hold.

  As a side note, anyone remember getting the WT & Awake in the thin brown individual wrappers delivered by postal service?

  SB: triple brown 'fs' experience here: had a 'bible study] with a baptist on the "superior authorities" in the brown 'Let god be true, [men liar]' book. defended the impossible wt doctrine of J&j being superior in position, and took a lot of the brown stuff, abuse from the 'householder' in the process. Coming home to the pioneer home, like in bethel, brown envelope on bed. Ta-da, New Light, HM The Queen back as the super superior authority, even in wt's eyes, J&j only supreme.

  actually quadruple brown: brown book; s-----brown wt doctrine; s--brown treatment I received, deservedly; brown envelope with bad/good news. Good news? because it proved to me once and for all, that

  wt doctrine is detritus. make that 5 browns.

  Other memories, raising my bible in hand quickly to nose heights, because the householder, perhaps by habit used in her trade, . had answered the door in her eve costume. Used my bible as her figleaves, maintained eye contact though, unfazed.

  giving a 5 scripture 'sermon' with a shepherd dog grasping my wrist, that held the bible, flipping pages with the other hand.

  The scripture in question says, "Does not the ear test out words as the tongue tastes food?"

  rtn: yeah, at meetings/assemblies, it was like: 'in one ear, out the other', never could remember any, after the sessions. because it did not really add to my understandings.

  The key word is test, allowed to test,ideas sifted out by lingering questions. like a chef that brings up the taste to it's finest, then serves.

  Of Course we dont want to be 'beefeaters', or gluttons of useless pulp.

  The Light Actually IS Getting Brighter

  the light really is getting brighter, but what kind?

  i can think of three types of figurative light in this context:.

  1) that which jws refer to and they base on pr 4:18. light on a path... light that gets brighter.

  If anything, the analogy of dawn in the east, also implies a dusk in the west, the cyclical nature of wt "enlightenment"

  all their much heralded new doctrinal slants in their "new releases" are now on the dustheap of history, no wonder they would like to see the light from a bonfire on all of it, going up in smoke, so much hot air rising.

  It must have dawned on David Splane, that it 'be easier if he could start from scratch, wit a clean slate, but it's too late, wt, doctrinally, is in the declining light, dusk phase.
