  i saw this on twitter the other day and it blew my mind.. tyrannosaurus is closer to us than to stegosaurus.

  that is, when tyrannosaurus lived, stegosaurus were already fossilized and those fossils were older than tyrannosaurus fossils are today to us, by a good 20 million years!.

  in a similar vein, the star wars prequel movies are now older than the original star wars movies were when those prequels were released.. how about that we're closer in time to cleopatra than she was to the pyramids being built.. what 'ya got?.

  M: yeah, right. thank you! a baby elephant may be. so, a gap of ~ 3m .is created by adding only16 to 40 000 000.!

  math, the truth, is. amazingly, no matter how big a sphere, disk, adding only ~ 6.28 feet to the outside , will add a foot to the distance to the center.

  By the universe going through one second, moving a second into the future, at light speed, it will add only another 3 or 4 light seconds to its size of 88 billion light years.

  That is why I am not worried about the accelerating expansion of the universe

  the Earth's circumference is ~ 40 000 000 meters. if you added 16 meters to a rope stretched around it, could a mouse get under it, everywhere? assuming a perfect bald ball, unstretchable rope?

  works for th universe too, > 88 billion light years around, the way light flies. ( not counting inflation )

  False memorial partakers deserve to die???

  every memorial, much emphasis is placed on making sure that only the (self-proclaimed) anointed partake in the emblems.

  this year, however, the speaker at my wife's congregation presented it as an even more serious matter.

  he likened it to individuals in ancient israel who sought position of the priesthood despite never been appointed by jehovah.

  here we did not hear the threat of death for partaking " unworthily". The wt writers must be really nervous though, that the jws will discover, that all should partake to get the hope of life (John 6).

  Partaking has absolutely nothing to do with a monopoly requirement to go to heaven.

  stop the counting and let the individuals choose to partake, if they are worthy.

  my dad and i would work on different "pioneers" vehicles in our kingdumb hell.

  and to nuts and bolts they where real "hoopties" anytime ready for the crusher.

  both my dad and i would work with our skills to keep their cars running since they don't have a real job to get a real working car.

  GT: it is not the sleeve, but the short stick that wt is dangling the carrot of paradise on, "soon, just around the corner, in this generation, this century," 2075. To be fair there were cheerful givers among the jws:

  One offered to me ( without being asked at all ): if you have issues with your car: take it to a garage, tell them to send me the bill" same generous soul with a then circuit overseer ( not a nice person bsw):

  taking him to a car dealership and telling him to select a unit from the used car lot. -- when him coming into the sales office with his choice, --- the benefactor had purchased a new car for "the circuit" instead.   does anybody know if the borg has ever done any articles on what day of the week they think jesus died?

  i know most denominations think it was friday and i have also heard somewhat sensible arguments that it could be wednesday.

  not that it matters weather one in a believer or not even.

  the quandary arises from the story that Jesus invoked Jonah, who with oxygen supply and acid resistant coating survived 3 -three- days in the fish. saying he, the messiah, would emerge after 3 days from the tomb.

  That meant he spend saturday, friday. thursday in our sequencing in sheol, died Wednesday not earlier than Thursday.

  Lazarus his contemporary resurrectee at 4 days was already odorous, so he avoided that stage.

  Jesus could not have been a false prophet, because that would not made him an unblemished ransom sacrifice, so: give him the three days of cave dwelling.

  Zoom Memorial

  well i did it.. i attended the zoom memorial ( in respect for my mum).

  it was very strange to say the least.

  everyone had bread and wine at their houses.

  how do they do the count? there was no pause for asking for raised, or emptied glasses, girls doing the serving, wow! , lots of cameras off. systems down. true family affairs. and

  even with a good speaker the big disconnect between the sacrifice for all, symbols of means to get everlasting life, adam like, and

  why only the 144 000 should partake. why everlasting life, slowly attained through 1000 years will be done without the ransom, without the symbols of it.

  an empty ness at the end, filled with wt commercials.

  interesting is your reminder that as seen from one location, direction, out there, it is always memorial time, as the world turns. We surrounded by pacific will be last.

  yeah, the wrong doctrines notwithstanding and the truly horrible people "in", there are a select few, that one would not mind to spend a lot of time with. if we had the choice.

  let's drink to that. communion time!

  Just invited to a zoom memorial.

  walked away from the trooth years ago(over 20) my older sister sends me an invite to the memorial via zoom.

  i have no interest in jwism at all.

  should i ignore or respond?.

  Well, seeing as their thing is tomorrow that leaves time for her to join you at an Easter service at a church next week! Sounds fair.

  c : Yea, a full slate of celebrations, first the death and then the resurrection. At least the death is proven, no 2000 year perfect men around, -- yet.

  I would make the best of it, doing the thing the way it was meant to be, in private, under the full moon in east, in the springtime. a glass of wine, with a mild appetizer.

  They might even deliver the crackers if you ask.
