by smiddy3 ini was saddened to hear this ,she was only 69 yrs old and i thought she played a great lois lane in the superman movie.. in her life she obviously had issues to deal with and not the best of outcomes sometimes .. r.i.p.

How do we know? fossils. stuff that has been around a long time, is durable, and looking at the other fossil, light. Yes, light, is a fossil, as old as 13 billion years, it carries the imprint of what it reflected off.
Everything we see , we see from the past, one way or another. fossils.
No, God did not tell them, otherwise they would not have copied mistakes like Gen. 1:1 asserting that the Earth was created in the Big Beginning. Or that a wooden ship could be build big enough to float in water that falls at a rate of meters per hour.

well, it says the earth has 4 corners, twice. Written 3 years after the greek geeks had measured the globe's diameter. so

Biblical cosmology...
That is a terrible illustration. It gives the firmament not just compression, but the tensile strength to hang the earth and lower appendages on "Nothing" , and in the process declare the H of Heavens and heavens above as the "nothing" that the earth hangs on. hang on here! Atheist alert!

The elephant in the room is that Jesus said the generation would pass away not sooner, but later, after all these things, including the destruction, have come to pass, into the past. so
1) it could not be the wt other sheep, they are promised never to die. (Funny, sheep are kept to do just that).
2) it could not be the wt anointed, because they are to die sooner rather than later, at the beginning of the GT, (not after the end). so:
it can not be wt, either way. never has been.
Hopefully life will go on, generation after generation, like the above endless surface. so:
ration your genes well, pass them on to the next generation! to be endless! I told a deserving young couple today.

The text could be thought of as not being the result of observation, in a way correct, but that does not apply by extension to the majority of the texts in the bible.
The speaker was comparing his tendency to fall toward the centre of the earth (which he would not know) with the fact that the earth apparently did not. The writer thought that the major attractor is the earth, not the Sun above during daytime. He did not know that the Earth circles the sun, and
by gravity would have a tendency to "fall" up to it. As it is, it is the energy of motion that balances the gravity. A pull out ward. The Earth hangs on energy. Energy is not nothing.
If there were more bible texts like that we would have food for thought. Even Genesis 1:1 is wrong, 1 or 2 out of ~30 000 is not a good record. not inspirational.
PS. The writer had it all wrong. The danger for the Earth is not to fall down, but up toward the sun. It needs not to be hung from a sky hook to keep from falling, but pulled down, outward. Unless you are writing in the dark, at night.

My dental theory
by The Fall Guy inwhile enjoying one of my favourite snacks the other day, (hula hoops) i suddenly had this thought; if ever a metal nut is hard to loosen with a wrench, usually a a couple of sharp hits with a hammer is enough to break the grip of whatever is holding it - usually rust.
similarly, crunching on foods which can impart small shockwaves to a capped tooth could have the same effect and cause the hardened dental cement to fracture and loosen the crown.

Teeth should grow back. It's terrible to lose a tooth - aging horror and accidents. No wonder the WT cult is so rich off all those promises.
30 years ago, I mentioned to my dentist, who also was my client, in jest,
that with everlasting life promised, we probably would regrow teeth just like sharks.

I also think this overlapping generation idea was something that allows them to keep appointing younger and younger people to the Governing Body.
Shall we consider the ages involved of these overlapping groups?
D. Splane used the example of F. Franz, who died in 1992, 78 years after 1914. A similarly aged anointed, ( or older as D.S mentioned in the video), would live into the 2070s.
Wt bases the overlapping generation idea on Ex. 1:6, mentioning "Joseph,---- and that whole generation", and he himself lived to 110 years old; but even that is not enough for wt, they have to add his overlapping generation to it. So wt has a group overlapping a 110 year old as the only scriptural bases for their current light. Not making light of this, but
wt has come up with a 200 year period of invisible 1914-19 rulers waiting for the over lappers to die and join them.
Younger people are not going to fix that. A fix that is unfixable.
wt generated one generous generation. ~ 200 years, scripturally.
