  at one time scientists believed that living things and non-living things were made of different material, accounting for the unique properties of living things.

  this idea is called vitalism and is no longer popular.

  what does remain popular (in fact is still the dominant view) is a similar idea that things that experience the world (humans, frogs, mice) are different from things that don't experience the world (potatoes, rocks, snowflakes).

  Sbf: I am a deist, and believe matter, energy and their structure and the laws they work with, were given at the moment of creation, in other words they are on auto pilot. To elevate that propensity of any entity to do the right thing does not require it to be "aware".

  You called it a "Philosophie " fine, let Sophia sing, but proposing it as a scientific theory is a different matter. making a prediction for example, at what point would aware matter like my rock collection feel and react to prodding?

  a worldly lady, and then, abandoning his special pioneer partners, moved in with her (in-to her city) for 1 1/2 days, possibly 2 nights.

  and he was also a trained carpenter...Zep:

  Bible is good if we look for implied truth

  thumbs-up gesture doesn’t covey much if we see only four fingers closed and thumb standing upward.

  but if we look for the implied meaning, then it is a positive, informal signal indicating a job well done, and saying ‘keep it up.’.

  similarly, biblical accounts don’t convey much if we see them as mere accounts.

  He would not be considered an example for the young brothers, hounded to be immersed at 9, because HE entered the service, delayed his dedication and baptism to his 30's year, although being able to call on all resources in the Universe, he gave only 10% of his life time.

  It would be very tempting to give matter the status of divinity, if one considers any created substance as the now un-dead trailings of a superior being.

  two magnets display an uncanny ability to attract or repell, even through some substances. They seem to be "aware" of each other. This goes down to the smallest fundamental particles. so,

  are inert, "noble" substances like Helium, Gold less conscious because they react with difficulty, but explosives more alert?

  Ascribing a quasi divinity to all matter might prompt us to deal with respect, gratitude even, with all we manipulate, -good-, but ascribing conscious too it all, would that not be the ultimate idolatry, misplaced reaction?

  "ascribing", because there is silch scientific experimental evident for it, to my knowledge.

  i do not mean the hypocritical talks about accuracy, but the rather short talk at the end.

  the brother (sorry, forgot the name) addressed the issue of how apostates wrongly inform the media about the 2 witness rule.

  It opens for the question too, why they do not allow an adversarial second witness to be present in pre-jc and jc meetings, and as a substitute insist in "no recordings" ?

  If child rapists hide behind the one witness barrier, what grievous stuff has wt to hide?

  ok, so what are the most deceptive comments that you have heard from your experience in congregations?.

  my top three are;.

  1) service overseer during the ’ how did we do?’ annual talk, twisted the figures to such an extent that it looked like the congregations ministry was in tip-top shape.

  Just to clarify, This was a deceptive attempt to raise himself above the redneck- car loving males of the day, referring to the rear engined, Beetles, Corvairs, Porsches, Ralph Nader (unsafe at any speed) bru ha ha of the day.   he would be disfellowshipped for speaking against God's appointed channel. within 3 1/2 years. Hopefully he would go against WT policy and volunteer, cooperate with "the world" to undergo tests to establish what a perfect human would be like, genetically, etc.

  Resist photo ops with minors, and refrain from comment, like " let the children come--"
