The word overseer does not convey the idea of a participant in the work, but I have seen elders assume that role. Of course often they are in the same mess than the cases they judge.

SG, the shooter was not a selecting sharp shooter like "god" was supposed to be in the flood, Sodom & Gomorrah, and all the firstborn Egyptians, he just sprayed the human mass below him with lead. They could not dodge the bullets, but on "his" rest day "he"could have saved lives, as "jesus" suggested. WT just hopes he will wake up from his 7000 year snooze to let out Satan, to finally see how to get it over with.
obviously the maker lets us work out our own problems, the ones of our own making. sorry for the victims and families.

Need help understanding the Overlapping Generation teaching

to me, the jw definition of the overlapping generation teaching is that the lives of the anointed from 1914 overlap with the lives of the anointed right now.
david splane used the example of fred franz and how he finished his "earthly course" in 1992 but while he did, he had a lot of "contemporaries" that outlived him and are currently living today.

Fisherman, very good analogy. They will have to erase the anointed generation, it does not fit Jesus words. That partaker generation ends before paradise for sheep and gehenna for goats, which is all part of Jesus' end generation prophecy.

Wt links the preaching of Math. 24:14, and the disciple making in all nations, as in Math 28, witnessing to distant parts of the Earth ( Acts 1:8) and "Hastening the day" to keep jws active in the field, now expected to be a joy until 2075.
Jws are now preach the kingdom established in 1914. Jesus did not know anything about that. How do expect him to have mentioned it?

Using D, Splane's comments about F. Franz, who was 21 in 1914, but was anointed earlier, and died 1992, 78 years after 1914, the generations start; A similar living anointed that D.S. alluded to, would be 46 today, and after 87 years outliving Franz, die at age 98 in ~ 2070.
David Splane acknowledged older partakers around, so a "happy anniversary wt, 2075" is the time they bought themselves at least on paper,
BSW: This anointed overlapping generation not only distorts "Jesus' " words it also contradict "him". because
Jesus said the generation will not pass away. but the anointed generation has to pass away, before all these things, like Armageddon, the judgement of the goats, the sheep entering into everlasting life... occur.
As it stands, wt stands in error by its current teaching. buying time will not help to erase that.

but thinking rationally about what is going on with the nfl, therefore, i have an unfavorable opinion of the league, and the players, not their right to free speech, but their motive and execution of it.
