wt policy was, to disfellowship a person if there was "notoriety" public knowledge of a criminal act, even if the person was repentant.

"Not Bringing Reproach on Jehovah's Name" is a Non-Sensical Excuse for Shunning
by truth_b_known infor whatever reason i was thinking on the topic of jehovah's witnesses' practice of disfellowshipping its members based on the concept of preventing "bringing reproach on jehovah's name".

That shows how wrong it is to cloak yourself in a name or concept so lofty, that even the reputed "son of the deity", named "Jah is salvation" would not utter it. utterly wrong to name yourself that way,

impossible in the affluent World at least, to make a convert
Ph, precisely. particularly now, , when wt has standardized the "presentations" at the doors, now the telephones. never an intelligent question from the "householder" scheduled. and wt statistics shows that every habitant of the world gets 10 minutes of such boring exposure per year.

There is no originality allowed, which of course is the essence of refreshing progress. no competition with the thinkers at the top. repetition for emphasis only.

Are You Enjoying living in Jesus Christ`s Paradise after 40 years of his reign ?
by smiddy3 init has been 40 years since 1975 when 6000 years of human creation took place according to wt theology, when jesus christ was supposedly to begin his 1000 year reign in which earth was supposed to be turned back to an eden like paradise.. 1975 was the second attempt of the wt to predict when 6000 years of human creation took place, the first time it was supposed to have occurred was in 1872 .. so by that reckoning we should be living 40 years into jesus christ`s 1000 reign .. on the other hand wt theology states that jesus returned in 1914 to do what ?
sit at his fathers right hand until 1975 ?.
of course this all hinges on jehovah`s witnesses / watchtower belief that a creative day was 7000 years long that they taught for decades .. do they still cling to this belief ?

s3, you are playing loose with the numbers, just like wt. it is 46 years. That means I could have lived more than half of my life in paradise, had that calculation had any merit, or basis. but, we have been had.
wt said over 50 years ago: "--it would be appropriate if in 1975 the millenium would start-- " the deity obviously did not agree. it was one of wt's inappropriate pronouncements.
Jesus does not wear his wt triara yet, ruling over 1) the kingdom of the love of the son Col 1:13, 2) the kingdom of 1914, and 3) the millenium. no reason to panic though,
wt predicts now, that 2 centenarians being contemporaries for ~20 years, starting at ~20 years old, like F.Franz was in 1914, will bring the crucial generation, the time for the middle tier of the tiara, to
2075.what is a 1 and 2 zeros and a one between friends?

If you could pick out critical errors to the JWS religion what would it be ?
by Rocketman123 inmany that have come to this forum have left the jws religion and moved on with their lives but from a outsider's viewpoint what do think makes the jws religion wrong or incorrect as a active christian faith ?.
somethings come to mind such as its long continuous end times/armageddon soon doctrine which has really been a core doctrine for decades going right back to its beginning .. maybe they should have adopted the stance as other christian based faiths and adhered to jesus's own words when he said " no one knows of the time not even he ".

Matt 24:45 doubtful interpretation
sbf: particularly with the 1919 appearance of that end time feature, and " The world has ended, millions now living will never die" the main message of wtBtS inc.

What aspects do you view most favorably about the WT and/or its religion?
by Disillusioned JW ineven if you disapprove of much about the wt and/or its religion, what aspects do you view most favorably about the wt and/or its religion?
for me one of the things i view most favorably about the wt and its religion is its extremely strong insistence that jws never intentionally kill another human being.
i especially appreciate that regarding those who have been born, but i think some abortions of human embryos might be justifiable.

The pool of people, supposedly chaste, that are seeking marriage, mates. But, together with the conscientious objection to war duty already mentioned, also not a monopoly of the wt world. .

wt sees itself as superior, chosen, because of right doctrine, the "truth" ---But: if their truth is false, that sinks their tacking sailboat.
Current total failure? the latest "last generation" loop.
Jesus said his contemporaries/ generation would not pass away, before the end of the [jewish temple] system. (all these things are fulfilled). so in his words, they might die later, and did. John of Patmos for example.
wt's "second fulfillment" scenario does not follow those parameters, contradicting Jesus.
wt prophecies, that The Anointed Generation will pass away at the beginning of the GT, not after Armageddon. and
we have not yet mentioned the 20 year overlap of 2 centenarians., since 1914, that expires in 2075.

WT'S memory loss, minimizing the "memorial",

2. If Jesus included everyone in "anyone who partakes", then why did he institute the memorial with only his 11 apostles? Is there an indication that he invited everyone, and only his 11 apostles turned up?
Dw: Jesus, at that point had the right to everlasting life earth, which he was about to sacrifice. the 11 apostles had a firm hope of an earthly kingdom too, when jesus served the bread and wine to them. They would through that symbolism have the right to everlasting life on earth, forgiveness through the new covenant.
All partakers get the right to everlasting life on earth, not immortality in heaven, but not all are called to give that restored adamic (or Eve) perfection up in wt land, only 144 000 sealed once.
Jesus served the emblems to earthly hope "sheep". it behooves wt to do the same, to claim to be his followers.
sorry for split reply, got balled up in the premature yellow.

There was a gap of one year between the events of John 6 and the institution of the memorial.
DW: 1) it is called "progressive revelation" and he also said, there are many things I should tell you, but you are not ready yes" or words to that effect
2. If Jesus included everyone in "anyone who partakes", then why did he institute the memorial with only his 11 apostles? Is there an indication that he invited everyone, and only his 11 apostles turned up?
answer: The passover was a family celebration, and that was his closest spiritual family.
just commenting, not endorsing the talking snake story's veracity.
