What is the most insensitive thing an Overseer or Elder has ever said and done to you?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inwhat is the most insensitive thing an overseer or elder has ever said and done to you?
i have had many insensitive things said to me by some elders, but for some reason one self-righteous elder was always on my case.
he didn't like the fact that i missed meetings, didn't like that i never went out in field service, that i didn't answer at the weekly meetings and he didn't like that i carried my books and magazines in my hands and not a service/book bag.

Would you leave the Watchtower if you woke up at age 80 plus, or just stay in for the rest of your life.
by pistolpete inso yesterday while i was doing some work for a customer, i noticed the wt mags on the sofa.
and i asked the elderly man if he was a jehovah witness?.
he said that he and his wife and all his children were raised in the religion, but only he and his wife attend the meetings or zoom.

I am into my 90ies and experiencing that. It would by hypocrisy to preach the wt doctrines and of course financing them.
At least when we were in, we had reason to believe some of it, like impending nuclear exchanges to poison the planet, after billions of dead. Now i feel sorry for those out in the field, the phony phones, peddling what amounts to a badly warmed up 1914 overlapping spiritual meal.
Older people are happy, they are beyond the struggles of so-called "truth". life will take it's course. enjoy. That does nor mean I will not work to straighten out my family: example, yesterday's text. The [other] sheep:
They know now the alternate explanations, non-israelite Christians. the great crowd of
other sheep.in the heavenly templeYou have to know the alternative explanation to defend "the truth" against contradictions, right?

The unrighteousness of the Jehovah's Witnesses
by Rocketman123 ina point to consider is that the bible states that if a prophet says things that god as not given them to say, they are to shun that individual or persons.. deuteronomy 18:22 ...... if a prophet speaks in the name of the lord, and the thing does not come about and does not come true, the lord has not spoken that word.
the prophet has spoken it presumptuously.
do not be afraid of him.. another scripture to note or consider would be 1 john 4:1 ......... dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from god, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.. so to observe if someone is saying things wrongly or what they have not been instructed to say in the preaching work, one has to play close attention to the instructions handed out by jesus christ himself.. one of the admonishments handed out to his followers is that they should not set a time upon god's own sacred time and that not even he knows of the time.. yet the wts and its top leading men have set numerous times on their own accord, taught and preached them, which were acts of disobedient apostasy.

It is a win win situation for science. either we are the unique planet with life, or it is a common thing. I am fascinated with the unique ratios in our planet system: all tens:
http://www.sciforums.com/threads/doing-the-numbers-on-no-1.160798/ and:
pressure of atmosphere 10 meters, surface gravity: ~ 10 m sc xsc 10 meter pendulam swings at 10 seconds.
see the planet 10x further out: Saturn .so:
Luhe, thanks for the above spectacular species, but sofar, we are still No 1, the first that was discovered to have life, by life.

Why did Paul call Jesus, “the firstborn from the dead”?
by Doug Mason in"jesus christ was resurrected on nisan 16, 33 c.e., the day when the jewish high priest offered up the firstfruits of the barley harvest.
this fits in accurately with jesus' being the "firstfruits" in the resurrection of the human dead.

Because, he was the first to be born again from SIN to immortality. Don't forget that the sins of the whole world (not just Adam as the WT tries to teach) were placed upon Him
SB that is new thoughts to me, although it contradicts in a way the text that says, he "died apart form/without sin". [personal sin] ?
If he really inherited all these sins, died a sinner, that undermines my favored request. proof for his standing, namely. to have him outlive his natural life term of 1001+ years before releasing him for sacrifice.
If you really accept such an inheritance, it shows on your accounts so to speak, you pay taxes on it,
If he really died a sinner. he truly was the second Adam. according to the bible stories, some people died twice, might die again, that too should account for some "sins" makes sense?

Once you accept the 'from dust to Adam to the rib and the talking snake' scenario, the groundwork is laid to keep on spinning the thread.
Do the scriptures not encourage us to outgrow tales fit for five year olds?

Do You Support The Death Penalty ?
by minimus indo you support the death penalty or do you think the worst punishment should be incarceration?.
-
waton
with unlimited foreknowledge, )as some are reputed to have), I would support execution before the deed is even done.
A murderer should die before he can even make another human join her in death.

But the WT does say that demonic activity happens in our time. Now isn't that odd? DJ
that fits in with the wt's 1914 doctrine, that the wicked spirits are now only here on earth, the focal point of their attention. which should fire a few neurons in distress.
