  just before the month ends i would like to congratulate the watchtower magazine for completing its run of 138 years of publication.

  the first copy was printed july 1st 1879. well done watchtower!.

  as a reminder, let people remember that in its time this magazine has one of the world’s largest print runs for a periodical.

  1975 and the burning question/s??

  ok. so i'm sitting there at the convention.

  the video comes up about 1975 and the fact that the faithful brother in the video maintained his faith in the bible by adhering to the scripture that says:.

  'no one knows the day or the hour as to when the lord is coming'.

  The 1975 seed that wt planted lead to an amplification of JW lives already in progress.

  1) the committed workers did everything to "hasten the day" divest, pioneering, move to where the "need is great"

  2) the Enjoyers, even bought stuff, life styles on credit , that they thought they would never have to repay, or recuperate.

  3) the now labelled "spiritually strong" hedging their bets, within the org. did everything, maneuvered to come out of the debacle, the inevitable fallout ... ahead of the game. or

  variations of the above, like the types that divested and bought a pad in the location where it would be nice to start life in paradise, and overseers were needed too.

  The message from the 1975 video, and David Splane's overlap flap?

  Do not take the details too seriously, strengthen the org, your position, 2075 will come and go too.

  The "soon" is thrown in to pacify the spiritually, materially or organisationally weak, or the sick and dying.

  Do you have problems with the spiritual strong that do not take the current wt hype, overlapping anointed, seriously today?

  Finds in Jerusalem shore up biblical account of Babylonian conquest (586 BCE date)

  this is a nice article about archaeological finds, what caught my attention is the use of 586 bce as the date for the destruction of jerusalem.. according to biblical descriptions, in 586 bce, the babylonian king nebuchadnezzar vanquished the judaean king zedekiah and razed his capital city, jerusalem.

  the babylonian captain of the guard nebuzaradan was dispatched into the city, where, as told in the book of jeremiah, he “burned the house of the lord, and the king’s house; and all the houses of jerusalem, even every great man’s house, burned he with fire.”.

  "The Name" in prayer, Jesus did not. If you have to pray, to a possible creator the most truthful you can do is say "father" mother? life giver.

  It's absolutely crazy for wt to bring up this failed prophecy,

  Chook you would think so, but they did, so, why? because

  WT knows that at the centennial, 2075, the overlapping anointed generation will turn out to be a failed prophecy too, assuredly, because it already has, no need to wait.

  Following the logic in the 1975 video, the spiritual strong don't believe a word of wt's words.

  before 1929, the President, King and Queen were the Superior Authorities, then it was that Jehovah and and Jesus (really the wt) were superior, the 1960s: ... surprise! it was the President and Queen again. up to now, but also Satan's agents ?

  It is not an admission of doctrinal error, dismal bible study, it becomes:

  "upon further consideration..."

  It is not : We published error, it becomes:

  "some brothers developed false expectations..."

  wt "becomes" is unbecoming for a pillar supporting truth.
