Where is the proof?
by stuckinarut2 inwe all know that the governing body claim to be "god's representatives" and the "faithful and discreet slave" that dispenses spiritual food..... but where is the proof?.
according to the bible (if we just for a moment take it as a reliable source), all of god's representatives in the past furnished proof of their appointment - not just self referential claims or statements.. for instance, moses and aaron performed miracles before pharaoh (such as the snake staffs.).
other prophets performed signs and miracles such as making the sun stand still, healing sick people, making walls fall down, etc etc.... even jesus performed miracles as proof of his divine appointment!.

Why Are More JWs Claiming to be Anointed?
by Ding inmost jws i know claim they are happy being in the great crowd.
they'd rather live on a paradise earth and pet lions than go to heaven.. heaven is a place they can't relate to, a place where they don't expect their friends and loved ones to be.. so why are more and more jws claiming to be of the anointed?.
aren't they looked down upon as if they are crazy, proud, ignorant, or engaging in apostate thinking?.

The new partakers can not be avid bible readers. Rev, 20.:-- to rule with Christ is not a question to eat crackers, but to be killed by the axe. That would seal your fate.
Why are there now more jw claimants? because they mistakenly believe to be a candidate, you have to partake, when the truth is, that the earliest partakers had an earthly hope and had to sacrifice that, to obtain the higher calling. All should have partaken all along., like all believers did. until 1925 , 35?
avid bible readers realize something is wrong when they come to the part with talking snake.

Watchtower Doctrines JWs most commonly don't believe
by Diogenesister inthere was a recent thread on another site where posters maintained that many of the *most* long-standing jw's don't believe at least one official watchtower doctrine.
i've even read reports from bethelites saying they've heard bethel overseers say they don't believe some watchtower theology.
this made me think - i believe there are a few official doctrines that are common for many jw's to be either in denial about or simply not really believe ( often one and the same thing).. i'd say these are pretty high in the ranking:.

That the end generation is only the anointed.
Most JWs still believe, that the generation that saw the beginning of the end, overlapping or not, will also see the total fulfillment, destruction of goats, paradise for sheep.
Because jws are still stuck on Jesus' words that the generation will not pass away until all these things occur. It has not occurred to them that the anointed will have to pass away long before the end. and the beginning of the millennium.

and we thought the USA is the litigation prone region. Bern is stubborn too. There is an interesting related article in the first link where a blood type mixup let to the initial conviction of a doctor in 2011 for careless homicide. and
Jws, wt are not a "race" because there are not enough of them. so no racial discrimination in the refusal case.

Do I have to believe in Jesus to be saved?

i was raised as a jehovah's witness.

To help unsure to be more sure:.... To be saved from what? The effect of so called "adamic" sin, The lack of the "tree of life diet"? to be killed by the flaming sword?
As jp1698 brought out in other words: To be alive is glorious, to live in the now, that so -important moment lingering in our minds as we move on through time.
Looking for salvation keeps you from living to the best for all, and you.( Of course you have to improve yourself)
Unsure, you have to realise that the bible is not what you think it is. It is not the creator's word. Jesus is part of the story. His biographers , so called , believed in a flat Earth, a flood covering everest, dead leaving graves walking into Jerusalem, pigs being demonized jumping off cliffs. You need to be saved from believing in stories like that.

Isis and failed prophecy

i read this today and thought of the jw's and you guys.. it's an article from today's paper about isis and a recent victory over the town of dabiq.
isis have long claimed that this will be the city where good will face evil i.e islam v christianity/western powers.

acting as a prophet in the bible was describing symptoms of insanity, sometimes the bible has valid points.

what the GB has approved S2:
no, what the brains in wt have approved and/or redlined as things not to say. Wt doctrinal lines have to be very carefully managed, double checked. Even David Splane's remarks saying "we loved this idea" showed the idea was not originating necessarily with the composite seven f&d slave[s].
David Splane would be losing his GB position if he would be allowed to let loose on his spiritual flights of fancy. so: use your theocratic ministry training stick to your notes, but keep audience contact Tony, Dave & all. The notes that are provided or double checked by the controllers.
