By the way, if it wasn't a Disfellowshipping Offense™ for your husband to attend another church, then why wasn't he there to support you on your special day?

The Elders' Manual™ called Pay Attention to Yourselves and All the Flock (1991 edition), on page 91 defines Apostasy this way:
Apostasy
Apostasy is a standing away from, a falling away, defection, rebellion, abandonment ; it involves teaching false doctrines, supporting or promoting false religion and its holidays or interfaith activities. (Deut . 13 :13, 15 ; Josh. 22 :22, ftn . ; Acts 21 :21, ftn. ; 2 Cor. 6 :14, 15, 17, 18 ; 2 John 7, 9, 10 ; Rev . 18 :4)Attending another church to witness someone's baptism into that church would be construed as "supporting ... false religion" and "interfaith activity". It would be considered an act of Apostasy™, and would be considered a Disfellowshipping Offense™.
It also applies to weddings, christenings, funerals, and other rites of passage that take place in a house of worship.

You are being abused. You have the right to your opinion. You have the right to express your opinion. Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise or punishes you for your free expressions is abusive.
Ask them if what you posted was true or false. You know it's true. They know it's true. Why are they so afraid of other people knowing the truth about what they believe?? Don't let them get away with saying it was "disrespectful" - it's the truth. It is what it is, there's no disrespect in truth. Perhaps they cannot tolerate having the truth about them known on a public forum such as Facebook.
I wouldn't have deleted my Facebook account over them. I would have unfriended or blocked them instead, so you can be free to speak your opinion without reprisal.
And one other thing - I would cancel the Bible Study™ with the Elder™ and his Pioneer™ wife. There needs to be some consequences for the way they are mistreating you.

Do you make your own soup?
by compound complex ingreetings, soup lovers:.
i have a huge kitchen at my disposal (not my own); vegetables, cans of this and that and spices are scattered about, prepared to go into a cauldron of minestrone i started a few days ago.
i'm preparing ahead so as to freeze the leftovers to heat up later at home over my hotplate.. nothing like a 6-burner gas range to simmer over!.

So, CoCo, I was thinking about you yesterday while I was making a pot of chicken stock for meatball and kale soup.
I was wondering if you have a crock pot - it would be really a great tool for you to make a nice chicken (with some veg and potatoes) for a weekend dinner, then you could put the carcass and a couple of carrots, celery stalks and onions in the crock pot with some water to make your stock overnight, and then use it to make soup the following day. Your room would be filled with a wonderful aroma, and your fridge / freezer would have the best homemade soup in town in it. If I could pick one small appliance to have, it would be a crock pot... you can make just about anything in one.

This is the kind of thing that needs to be compiled for every JW and child of JWs who died for lack of a blood transfusion. As well as people who committed suicide after being DFd from the JWs.

That was a lovely surprise. I'm very happy for you, but I hope you don't have to wait another year for a kind gesture from him, especially after he took such a dump all over you in the beginning of this episode.

BUM WITNESSES
by The Searcher incan anyone save me the stress of listening to the self-appointed faithful & discreet slave for 3 hours, and give a clue as to roughly at what point in the proceedings was the derogatory term 'bum witnesses used, and by whom?
i'd really love to extract that comment and send it to a weakening witness, to highlight the judgmental arrogance and name-calling being displayed.. many thanks in advance folks!.

How to break up a "friendship" with a JW who is (still!) trying to convert me
by Sofi inok, so i never had the courage to tell this people i was df'd a long time ago... just kept "studying" here and there because i felt lonely and they were so persistent.
last time i saw this woman, we had a heated argument (was more like a monologue) where i told them why i think the wts is wrong on the blood subject.
she is still sending me texts about when is she going to see me again to "study" (bringing in the "closer": a regular pioneer we both know).

Start celebrating holidays, beginning with Halloween.
You don't even have to go whole-hog with ghosts and witches and pumpkins. I simply had seasonal decorations: a bale of hay, some decorative gourds and some colorful corn around our front entrance and the gossip went WILD within the Congregation™.
For Christmas, don't do lights or a tree, but put pictures of snowmen and snowflakes all over your house. Again, seasonal decorations, but nothing overtly from False Religion™.
In springtime, you can do flowers and baby animal pictures instead of Easter stuff.
In the summer, if you live in the USA, decorate in red-white-and-blue, without using the American Flag. I live in Canada, so I had red-and-white everywhere rather than having a Canadian flag - I even made sure my flowerbeds were in red and white, so I could say confidently that I was just going with a red and white theme - it had nothing to do with Canada Day.
Your JW Friend™ will start questioning what you're doing, and perhaps accuse you of celebrating holidays. You can counter with the fact that you are enjoying the seasons and then you can get offended that she's trying to tell you what to do in your own home, with your own money and impose her Conscience™ on you. That works every time. She will start withdrawing, and unfortunately that means your daughter may lose her friend too, but there are tons of other children who will be lots more fun for your daughter to play with.
