I'm PIMO, and I was telling someone recently about all of the Watchtower properties being sold, and this person actually got a little upset with me. It's as if they know that something is wrong, and they want to avoid any little thing that might burst their bubble. I'm surprised the person I was talking to didn't just plug their ears and go, "La la la la la, I don't hear you, la la la la la." -

Dignified Death...Assisted Dying Your Views
by ZindagiNaMilegiDobaara indignity in dying, assisted dying...your views.
the royalcollege of pysicians (rcp) has dropped its 13 year opposition to the concept of helping terminally .
ill patients die.

I completely agree with it. Anyone who is terminally ill should be in complete control if they choose to end it before their sickness does.

Fearmongering : The greatest ploy the Watchtower Society uses against its faithful members
by RULES & REGULATIONS in"shortly, within our twentieth century*, the "battle in the day of jehovah" will begin against the modern antitype of jerusalem, christendom.
" (the nations shall know that i am jehovah; 1971; 2nd ed.
fearmongering or scaremongering is the spreading of frightening and exaggerated rumors of impending danger or the habit or tactic of purposely and needlessly arousing public fear about an issue.

There's one point that I disagree with Lloyd on, and that's the idea that Tony Morris actually believes in this religion. While there may be other members of the governing body who truly believe what they teach, Tony absolutely does not strike me as one of those people. In his case it seems to be the exact opposite. That man knows EXACTLY what he is doing. Why else would he stand in front of thousands talking about how Armageddon will be like the Vietnam war, with humans "blackened and splitting open"? He comes across as a bully, a manipulator, a control freak, and a narcissist who wants to scare the living daylights out of anyone who will let him. -

Do you think its stupid that JWs can't date regular people?
by nowawake14 inthat is absolutely the number one rule that i resent.. i feel sorry for some of those poor dependent minded jws who can't find anyone to marry.
all because they were only allowed to be with witnesses.
what a bunch of boloney!

Yet another reason to be depressed, hearing a member of the opposite sex talk about how dorky and weird JW guys are. I just wish they could cut us some slack, especially those of us that were born in. It's not our fault that our parents chose to raise us in a cult. Maybe if we could have been raised in the real world, and allowed to experience normal developmental milestones, then maybe we wouldn't be so weird and dorky. I struggle every single day to just feel and act normal. I try not to think about all the things I missed out on, even at my age. When I think about the man I could've been without the brainwashing, it's a struggle to even get out of bed. -

Does anybody else still have an obsession about Saturday morning weather?
by Exelder ini am still enjoying the luxury of weekends to do whatever i want....but....out of habit i am still obsessed with looking at the weather for saturday mornings.
rain on a saturday morning was a very rare treat and we got the morning off, although as group leader, i still had to go to the group just in case somebody turned up.. does anybody else still watch the weekend forecast with interest?
(i am aware that this is probably a uk thing as we are obsessed with the weather ha ha).

Sometimes I take it personally when the weatherman says that it's going to rain on Saturday morning, and then nothing happens. And sometimes they'll say it's going to rain, but it will be in the afternoon. What good will afternoon rain do me? I know that they don't control the weather, but I have to catch myself when the silly idea pops into my head that they somehow had something to do with me having to knock on doors. Today was one of those days.

Short-sighted WT ?
by Tech49 init has always struck me that wt is so very short-sighted in many things.
often, they are very re-active, and not so much pro-active in their reasoning and the way they plan for the future.. just thinking today, and have kicked this one around for a while now.. is the watchtower organization truly sustainable?
is a new monetary structure on the horizon?

Most of these elites are pretty old by now, at least in their 40s if not 50s or 60s, they don't need to worry about 20 years down the line they'll be dead by then.
@john.prestor, Good grief man...How old are you? People in their 40s don't qualify as "pretty old". And nowadays, with advancements in medicine and healthcare, even people in their 60s will most likely still be active and in fairly good health 20 years from now. Look at Betty White. Are you a teenager?
