I haven't seen a performance by Mr Dollar, but I bet he puts on a much better show than any of the GB judging from what I've seen at Jw.org TV. The man has obviously found his niche. -

I'm happy that Viv M. is back in Australia. I have no idea what he was doing here in Poland a couple of years ago. I actually told him 'jokingly' that the translated talk was better than his at one of the last CA's I attended. -

Is it usually one for one? I mean same articles, just 'simplified'? If so, I wonder if any JW's will notice and then ask why... -

Nice job. I will have to take a look at the original to compare, but the sad fact that everyone in the video seems to know the moves (well mostly) just screams 'epic fail' to me. Isn't this 'worldly'? I'm pretty sure Knorr and Freddy Franz would not be 'happy'. -

Devouring the Forbidden Fruit - Higher Education
by cappytan inwell, i told my wife over the weekend i was going to go back school to finish my degree.
she is 100% supportive of it!
apparently she doesn't think higher education is so evil either.. since my former major was computer programming and that was in the late 1990's, i was told i'd have to retake a bunch of classes since times have changed.

If you have already been employed in the field of computer technology for some time you don't need to worry about getting a degree in that field. Pursue what you love while your other job continues to pay the bills and put food on the table.
Funny that you are interested in Biology and Physics. I was actually interested in taking some courses just for fun in molecular/unicellular biology. I'm near retirement age so not looking for a new career. My 30 plus years experience programming in telecommunications/networking made this possible.
I am also a 'rural' type guy although at the moment I work in the city but get to work remotely a couple of days/week. Last 4 years I worked remotely from home (next to national forest - think moose/boars/fox/etc) and beautifully clear skys at night.
Good luck and best wishes...

Nethanyahu speach to US Congress - not in sync with NRA position on weapons
by RubaDub ini don't quite understand why mr. nethanyahu is so fearful if iran or other nations have nuclear weapons.
as the nra espouses, the more people are armed and the more weapons on the street, then the safer we should feel.
we all should have the right to protect ourselves.

good point cappytan: also, Pakistan and India both have nuke's and are not on the best of terms but somehow limit their responses to each other's 'hostile' acts. Not sure how much use of nuclear for power either of them are using. Need to check.
I know Iran has argued that they need nuclear power for electricity in the past. The real test would be, are they peparing for it or something else. I takes 10-20 years get nuke plants up from conception to producing.. I also know that Russia has offered to help them with nuclear power plants, but not sure what the current status is.

I'm racking my brains trying to come up with a good example of an 'outstanding/upstanding' whatever country. Just looking at the last century or so... Who could possibly qualify? Possibly one of the Scandavian countries? Any other candidates? I actually find the US to be the worst, simply because they hide behind a facade of virtue, freedom, and democracy. IMHO, they could have gone down a different road, but in the end it was just too hard to resist 'full-spectrum' dominance.
I realize this will not be a popular opinion with the Fox-News crowd, so don't tell me if I don't like it I can leave: because I already did...

You have to wonder what her husband is thinking? I don't think the boy has been overly traumatized. I doubt too many 15 yo guys would complain too much... -

Definition of "Active Publisher" depends on the context
by Simon ini don't know what the current definitive rule is that determines whether someone is viewed as an "active publisher" or not.
i've seen comments suggesting that it is reporting a certain minimum number of hours per month which seems reasonable.. what is interesting is how they change the definition of what an active publisher is based on the context.
normally, you are never doing enough, however much you are doing, and too little or some missed reporting will get you a talking to.. but note how they class 'active' in one of the latest body of elders letters:.

@sparrowdown: not reporting is such a 'naughty' and subversive idea. Or, on the flip side, everyone could start reporting 180 hrs - that is only 6 hrs/day. I mean common. You are awake at least 6 hrs/day (I hope) and you are a JW. Shouldn't every waking moment be spent somehow witnessing to others, especially since we are so close to 'the end'.?
Wouldn't you love to see the secretay's face as he scanned thru all the reports with 180 hours? Can you see a 'local needs' part coming up soon after that?

Thank you for that. I had no idea Loesch was so bad. Thankfully, I never had to sit thru 50 minutes of that in the summer heat. I can only imagine listening to him drone on attending a DA in Philly while getting sun burned beyond recognition.. People would probably being throwing themselves over the railings in despair.
Seriously, could even a JW sit thru an entire video from jw tv?
